Hey man theres a vacant lot right next to me! 23 grand and its yours, most likely? The only problem is because of the creek you cant build on it lol but you could put a small 10 foot high deer fence in the middle and grow a few huge plants!

Lol! We’re all dead.

I think that’s a Japanese maple. That’s what I was told.

My father in law grows tomatoes in these tubs. This is what the inside looks like. He says that the water wicks up the fabric to keep the plants watered. It’s not totally straw though.

Ha haha! :joy:

Update: The bale of hay has felt the same temperature as the ambient temperature

But when you leave your hands ON the bale and leave them there, you can feel heat radiating from inside.

So today I grabbed my thermometer and it read 68F and the air seems to feel like that. So I calibrated the thermometer in ice water.

Don’t hate on the Seahawks! Go Hawks!

And when I stuck the thermometer in the bale, the reading SHOT UP!

Reading stabilized just a smidge over 100F.

So that’s why I’m not transplanting anything into it this weekend.

I’m not sad that the bale is still this warm.

I could not possibly be productive right now. :dash::dash::football:

I used 1:1 ratio of runoff:water to feed (2x) this tree last week.

I’ve never seen growth like this with this tree before. This runoff stuff is unreal!

The bail of straw has settled down to a temperature of 80°. So in preparation for the transplant, I first cut out a chunk of the straw large enough for the transplant.

Then I filled in the hole with the sunshine growing mix and I sprinkled more mix over the entire bail and rubbed it in real good.

Then I soaked the bale real slowly in short batches to get the soil to trickle down into the straw.

And I’ll be transplanting in a few days.
