very good sir and i’ve got one,the smallest doing just that,a few white hairs, and shortly to follow the rest.
Is it advantageous to lollipop just before the stretch?
or just after the growth spurt?
The plant 2-8 doing the tacoing is currently run off ppm-1450/ph-5.7 it used to be 2250ppm/ ph 6.3 /31.3 -20 hr. DLI. after 6.0 ph/400ppm water to runoff with a gallon of that crap.
@Graysin@VF@Storm
Well I have an update on the nearly dead orphans,as you know by now they went from solo cups with
FFOF to 3 gallon fabric containers, they recovered fairly well however the little one was stressed a bit more than the other and is therefore behind in growth rate. The Age is rather uncertain because the person whom popped these puppies cared not for anything such as that and I have estimated their age today to be 30 days.
This estimation is based on extensive interrogation of the perp.(which was a fool’s errand.)
They subsequently have been relegated to an outdoor grow in god’s magnificent glory as they were too far behind the primary inhabitants of the grow room.
It was then decided that despite suffering at the hands of Captain Carpal Tunnel Chaos through one transplant that if indeed they were going to run amuck out in the wild blue yonder that a 3 gallon pot would be woefully insufficient, and once again, just this very morning we moved them…into 7 gallon fabric pots and a media of Brother Bruce’s consisting of 50% peat, 50% vermiculite,40 grams/ft2 dolomitic lime and 10 grams/ft2 of sulfur(not elemental sulfur).
They from there receive daily waterings to run off of 20-10-20 Petersons water soluble fertilizer throughout the grow.
Their first day pics in their new pots/95 degrees outside /87% humidity.
Questions,?of course i have questions…lol.
Which one do I top?
And what would you do with them out doors?
I am interested in all your thoughts…
Is there any one person or couple of them you know to be reliable sources of information on outdoor grows.not withstanding yourselves of course…
Honestly I’d probably just do my best to leave them alone and let them grow. Perhaps do a bit of Lst to encourage more bud sites. Topping is a choice - I would FIM if anything.
Thanks for asking @jorkvilleyoe .The plants look good now, nice save. I’m still kind of new to this. I am learning and trying for optimal yield. Of my plants I have a few I topped, I have a few I FImmed and a few I’m letting go w just one cola.
Seems like topping them a couple times should give you multiple mains and higher yields. Your plants look good, so you could just leave them til their a little bigger. Last year I topped a few in late July, close to flowering. I think that turned out to be a mistake. the buds were not as big as the ones left alone. So this year I plan to be done topping them early and strip everything off from the bottom as they progress.
these are autos. it’s now or never. The little one just received a sound thrashing this morning as it was tied down by a big retarded Lilliputian.
The other is so near perfectly symmetrical it seems a shame to alter it, but…
What would be the difference in results between fimming and topping?
@jorkvilleyoe they both produce a fork but topping is more stressful and may take a tad more recovery time. I just pinch out the new little stem in between the new pair of leaves once it protrudes enough to get my meat hooks in there lol.
im going to look ito this ty. i have another question some of the ladies white hairs are beginning to brown and shrivel somewhat .
Is this normal? I know theyre blurry.i’ll try to get better ones later.
@jorkvilleyoe yeah, the color change is a ‘high’ly anticipated event broham, it’s a sign of your girls maturing. Like the monkey said when his tail got chopped off… it won’t be long now…’
You got something for magnification? You’ll need to start watching your trichomes as they develop.
Clear to cloudy to amber. Growers choice when to chop.
the buds are still tiny.Is it not too early?other people say day 89 and someone else indicated nearly 110 days if i’m not mistaken and they were clear on the fact we are talking about white widow autos.there aren’t any trichomes to see.
I am at day 52.
@jorkvilleyoe the pace is sure to pick up for you shortly. Your just over 7 wks. 10-14 wks is an average but it can go either way. Your plants will make up their own minds. Be patient. Try to enjoy the show. Flowering is a thing of beauty.
Pistils will come and go. A lot of plants I’ve grown tend to throw out their first round of pistils. They will often start to brown and recede while a new wave of fresh pistils are being thrown out. I have had a plant go through that cycle four times while flowering, although most common is 2 cycles.
Almost always yes. If lots of them are browning all at once, I would start to look around for signs of male or hermaphrodite flowers. If it’s just “some” sporadically, then that’s completely to be anticipated. Based on the photos you showed, I don’t see anything that warns of pollination - which would be what causes immature flower pistils to recede and brown up all at once (as the pollen is often caught by the majority of buds with fans blowing it all around in a controlled environment)
ty for your reply, did you have white hairs turning brown rather early?
It is only present on one site and its right next to a tie down from lst so i’m guessing that unlike most she wasn’t a fan of capt. size 16 ring finger.
ty for the tip,i was staring off into space in a completely incorrect direction thinking of mold/rot as we struggle with humidity, currently conditions are 78.0* / 58% humidity / VPD of 1.56 kPa.
Even piping the exhaust from the dehumidifier into the outgoing air did mitigate some heat (2-4*) the air is being removed and replaced so quickly your committed to the humidity level present in the room it’s coming from. And when you put the humidifier in that room it’s overwhelmed by its connection to the rest of the house.
The price of a bag of weed is going up boys…
