Yes. Get more air flow and light penetration. They respond well to pruning.
Yes, looks like they could use a little trim. My general rule of thumb is to not take more than about 20% of the plant at a time. And then give it a week to recover before taking anything else. Others do it differently, but I’ve found that it doesn’t stress the plant and it invigorates the growth. Good luck.
@Budbrother thanks for info going to flip in about 10 days because I topped a few days ago should I defolitate now or wait until I flip
I’d hold off on the flip for a bit longer. Defol and wait at least 15 days for the auxin shift to return to normal. Then flip them. Don’t wanna confuse the plants with mixed signals. Ie. Put down more roots vs start producing fruits.
Okay thanks I appreciate it will do you all are great getting better with each grow
Top notch advice by @Budbrother as always!
@Budbrother @Darran thanks little confusing sometimes some say defolitate n some say don’t remove leaves unless damaged or yellowing have a few grows I’ve done i defolitated all didn’t know if i was messing quality or growth up by doing so
If feeding with salts, you can pluck away; since the nutrition is available. It allows for better penetration of canopy.
If organic, those are “batteries” needed for energy reserves. Buds don’t photosynthesize but leaves do. Different styles of growing is all.
I’m using soil from build a soil called duke diamond x and I’m just giving them spring water no feeding going to top dress with there craft blend, flower bloom booster and build a flower will be first time trying it
Dukes mix is pretty good with water only for the first run. Second it needs amends at key flowering stages. Third run get lab test for re-amend.
I’m organics, so if you need help feel free to tag me. Happy growing
Okay thanks will do appreciate the help
I see the shaping and you did a great job opening it up. May wanna wait a bit longer on the flip, and let the colas catch several nodes first. That should be the last major defol needed.
Will do appreciate it n thanks
Great job on the defoliation. Plenty of light and air getting through now. Nicely done.
@Darran thanks for commenting appreciate it sit back n let it recover
That looks real good! Great job pruning
Thanks was thinking i might have took too much off
Got some decent advice from some pound pushers. Defoliate a week before flip, day 21, and day 42!
