Have been sticking to my feeding schedule every other watering. Not even at 6 weeks and leaves are yellowing. Adjusted nutrients remain in 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 ph range. Have been waiting to water until plants start to droop. Due to the current setup I cannot get runoff sample to check what’s coming out. Should I be trimming these yellowing fans off? Should I start to thin the plant up up prep of harvest?
Plant is feeding on itself. Leaves should stay on. Without a runoff PPM it’s tough to stay if you are over or under feeding. Both could cause yellowing. Any tip burn?
Your tips are burned (brown and crispy). Suggests you PPM is too high. You really need to find out.
Thanks, I’ll be heading out today to get something to check ppm. In your opinion, do you think I will be able to get a few more weeks of flowering? Want them to get nice and fat.
If I can correct the inbalance will any color come back?
Sure. You could flush some water through the plant just in case it is too high. See if that helps. What are you using for soil? Color may not come back but you will keep the other leaves alive and feeding the plant.
Standard potting soil without fertilizer. Can ppm be checked in soil by a probe or is collection of run off the best way to correct?
Best to check runnoff. Another suggested method is to grab some of the soil and slurry in water and test.
TDS/PPM testers are cheap,on Amazon ~$10 for a pen style.
So I just take some of the soil, add water and use that as run off. Do I need to filter the water of particulates or do I just let settle?
Measure water first then water from slurry. You need a baseline of what your water is first.
Thanks! I would have missed that lol.
I’m in the same boat you are in. I have my plant tied to the tent. Get yourself a big tub and if too tall, trim it down some. Put your plant inside and use a wet/dry shop vacuum to suck the water out. You can collect water and test it
5.5 to 6.5 seems like pretty big ph swing for soil grow. I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what you’re seeing as issue.
