So I just bought a 4x8x7 tent and I also have a 2x4x5 tent. I have 2x100HLGs and 3 1200wAtt Philzon lights ( 241 actual watts per light). What I would like to do is run all 5 lights in the big tent. P-HGL-P-HLG-P is what I was thinking. Is this best bet or should I run the 2x100s in the smaller tent? And leave the philzon to their own demise lol I know their now the best lights but I paid 310 bucks for 750 watts of power.
I was going to scrogg the 4x8 with 4 plants in 7Gallon fabric buckets.
2 tents and offset the grows or one big grow ??
I was concerned about heat in tent, I got ability to lower temp dues to living in cold climates.
I was thinking maybe I could just grow maybe 6x3 section of it to get my numbers up. To be honest I’m nervous about the 600 watt catching fire. I leave for periods of time. I could buy another led light if need be to run both tents.
I don’t know that the HPS lights are more prone to starting fires. I don’t think they’re inherently more likely to catch fire on their own. They’re affordable, that’s why I brought them up. But peace of mind is priceless, so LED sounds good.
Could you spend $500 on a HLG led to cover the additional area?
You’ve got options. The HLG 100s will cover the smaller tent. The philzons will cover about half the larger tent; you could hang a curtain to minimize light loss. Or you could add a light or two to cover the additional 4x4, and I think you can build one for less than $500.
If you’re going to keep the 2x4 going I would leave the two hlg-100’s in there. It just makes sense to me that way because they are ideal lights to have in there.
A 600w would probably be enough, if you want to save a little money on electricity. Also, with a 1000w, the other lights, and fans/filters I think you’re exceeding the capacity of a 15amp/110 circuit, just FYI.
