Welp, its -10 windchill here and my room w/o lights on has dropped to 45°F. Lights on it climbs up to around 60. I have 2 autos in flower and 4 photos in veg. Can i leave the lights on 24hrs for a few days to supplement heat or is that a big no/no. Ive got a oil heater on full blast and shes giving her all shes got. We have 3 days of below freezing temps. Should i worry?
yes if this is your current grow …the autos will continue to flower and the photos will stay is veg…just watch for heat stress on your girls
@Retiredoldguy so im understanding that yes, i can run 24hrs or im ok at 45°? Looks like shes not gonna drop anymore than that. Im on an 18/6 and its lights out right now until 1430.

Agree no worries on 24 hours…some people do it their entire veg. (or flower with autos)

Same issue with cold here. I added a small oil heater put it on setting one. Stays nice and warm inside without extra heat blowing them up
@bartenderjoe i have mine set on 82… and full blast. 12x8 room with insulation, but its in the back of a metal shop with one wall facing north… ughhhh… you northerfolks… your weather is drunk in my front yard, ya need to come get her…
Made me think that everyone needs to be careful in this cold weather when using supplimental heat. CO can kill ya…so make sure you have ventilation. Lost some friends some years back in a camper using propane heat.
@Riskguy amen brother. I worked in emergency services for 20 yrs. Have seen my share of carbon monoxide deaths. Why i chose to go with an radiator oil heater.
Wind chill here when I got up this morning was -35F. Having a hard time keeping the house heated too.
I can’t even get the dogs to go out. I open the door for them, they poke their heads out and are like “Nope, not going out there.” I had to put puppy pads down so they could do their business. 
@MidwestGuy this is the coldest its been since 89. Woke to a dusting of snow and -15 windchill. I went to go get diesel for my garage heater and was out in it for a few min. I dont blame your pups. Id be begging for a puppy pad
Yeah power’s gone out 4 times today I think it’s power breakers tripping out and coming back in from everyone’s heaters. you don’t have any supplemental heat? if you can run lights you have power somewhere?
As mentioned alot of people across the US are dealing with extreme colds 1 of my tents is obly hitting a high of 70 im breaking out a space heater for a day or 2
Today is the first time ive seen it get cold enough my heater wont keep up. Room got down to 65 during lights out. The whole building dropped to 62 with the thermostat on 72 last night. Tonight im leaving it on 76 to see if it will help. All my girls are photos in flower. I can turn my lights on for anymore then they are on now.

Those look to be designed for indoor use without a vent…must admit not an expert on these. Being the risk guy and all…I suggest everyone have a CO detector in their house. Stay safe and watch for fire.
