2x150w light or 1x300w light

Hi I looking for light advised here is my future grow plan

2x4 or 3x3 space , multiple strain growing a times. 2x5gl pots or 4x3gl pots.

I looking at Mars Hydro ts1000x2 or tsw2000. If my pain point is too much heats what is the best choice here? I have 200w unknown brand LED running now.

The price was 20$ diff. 2xts1000 is cheaper due to the 2nd purchase are 50%off

Or just get ts3000 for better quality ? It is on sale tho

You have more versatility and control with two lights. You can point them where you want them and where more light is needed.

That’s why i use six 100 watt lights made into one light fixture.

does the more light = more heats from driver? or bigger wattage light driver will produce similar heats

There are lots of variables to take into account, but honestly i do not think it would be enough to matter. As long as you get a quality light with Samsung 301 LED’s and a good driver you will be good.

Thanks you. I would love to go with multiple light also for future easier more controllable. and also cheaper is better for me lol.

I ended up figuring this out on accident. Budget allowed me to gradually buy my lights instead of getting a big light. Then instead of replacing them i just bought more. Now i have 10 and I’m getting two more.
100 watts at a time.

I use spider farmer sf-1000 light fixtures.

Cool! I would love to gradually upgrade while gaining experienced. Dont want to spend a lot and only get some low grade stuff from error :grimacing:

Personally I would run two lights in the 2 x 4. This gives you the ability to raise or lower one light for a shorter or taller plant growing beside one that’s the opposite :love_you_gesture:

Im end up ordering 2xts1000 and 3x3 tent from them.

I read that changing light half way is not good. But if my current setup light is not enough can i switch to new?

My situation is 1 plant bulking up flower, 1 plant stretching and other one almost stretching.

Or i just use my current light and add new light to help is better idea?

Determine how much more powerful the new lights are and start with them. If they are dimmable turn them down, maybe 50%-75% for a day. Then turn them up again. Do it over 2 or 3 days.

Then using the Photone app check check your DLI and PPFD. SET the lights accordingly.

If you need more, start adding the old lights.

Or…

Put the new lights up top like i said above and add the old lights to the side to get deeper penetration.

Thanks ! Currently my flower plant get 1100 at center of tent and 600 at corner.other plants tend to lean toward center also, My fault put too much plant in there.

Will see when equipments come and try to play with it. Just need to make sure that changing setup not harmful them.

It’s really not going to hurt them. Are they autos? Those are the ones you don’t want to stress. There isn’t any time for recovery.

Agree with @Bamarayne. Use a meter/PHOTONE to dial in the PPFD :love_you_gesture:

The best lighting advice I can share is purchase a quality fixture now or end up with several sub par fixtures collecting dust like I have. Look for fixtures with the Samsung LM 301H or a B series. AC infinity is producing a light that has the new Samsung LM301H EVO that won’t break the bank. A minimum of 35 watts to 50 watts per sq ft of grow space :love_you_gesture:

That was a future plan I will do someday when I can renovate my space and hidden grow room next to bedroom

Just got them :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Matched to previous PPFD and more equally light per sq.m. but my bummer timer cannot connect with any plugs
