2nd grow journal 11/1/2021 / starts 5/1/22

Organics in general tank pH. Its something about the biobreakdown that just bottoms it over time. Not GOING to happen, but very lightly. Similar to how a rootbound plant’s pH always drops. Can only be the massive rootball breaking down

Thank you for the heads up, but I think ill be fine, only used it once lol. Im very stingy with what I give them, so I dont over do it… in reality tho I’m starving them lmao

Tent is older, how do you fix light leaks from zipper and the drawstring in/outlets ( its blocked in by 3 walls and ceiling is tight. One of the walls is an outside window. I did hang some blackout curtains, but I think tiny light still finds its way

@TT I don’t let any of my old products go to waste. I use them in the outdoor vegetable, MJ, flower gardens and house plants. You never know when your plant might just need an extra something something and now you have it on hand.

@JaneQP thank you lol this stuff isn’t cheap, thats exactly what ill do, I cant wait til spring to get back outside, I have 2 3yr old apple trees that weren’t doing so great. Now maybe I can apply some of this knowledge to their needs, and the vegetables oh I cant wait, ill probably start some tomatoes and jalapeno in the tent. Feels good being productive again

@TT I probably have a couple hundred bucks invested in things individuals suggested and I don’t use. Once your find your stride, you know what to keep. You can always sell unused product on ebay. I used a lot of products in the gardens last summer and the roses and tomatoes were amazing.

Here is a link to my journal for this year. A lot of friendly banter but some great growers there that always help me out.

I know about being productive. Just had a heck of a downer year so I will make 2022 a better place. I have some dill, sage, rosemary and basil in the seedling tray right now.

@TT keep this in mind when it comes to light leaks. Sometimes it can appear as if you have a light leak, but it’s only because of the light intensity inside your tent. I can clearly see light around the entire zipper of one of my tents when the grow light is on. This made me believe I had a light leak, but I got inside the tent with the grow light off, had my friend zip it up closed all the way, and turn on all the lights in the room. I couldn’t see any light at all through the zipper, I actually couldn’t see anything at all, it was pitch dark in there. When my friend shined an incredibly bright flashlight right on the zipper, I was able to see some light, but nothing at all from regular lighting in the room.
So basically, the light in our tents is so intense compared to regular lighting that we’re used to, it escapes much easier than basic lighting could ever sneak in. Unless you had really strong direct sunlight coming in a window and landing right on the front of your tent, I wouldn’t worry about the zipper, or maybe just get in there and check it out for yourself!

@TT roses will love it! My husband has probably 20 rose bushes in the backyard - mostly minis on their own rootstock - a few over 20 years old and 4ft tall! Grafted roses do not survive here. Every year after valentine’s day and mother’s day we rescue the left behind mini roses at the stores. I’ve picked some up for $1.98 in a nice ceramic planter. I digress about plant rescue. I will say using the products I had on hand saved one bush and the roses flowered better than any year before.

@TT , it’s quite the few women cultivators that are just as novice at growing as good as men here , many are just in the shadows reading :books: and learning from journals in reference to they question once you learn to navigate the thread to your advantage.
@MadamCalamity , @JaneQP @CalamityJane @Low and it’s many here that have you cover , if you just stick with what I gave you for another week at least , you can add .5 mls of Bloom with you feeding now with it and transition one out and replace it with the other , are the plants happy ?

@yoshi Thank you for your very kind words. There is a great tribe of women growers on this forum, and I am indebted to them for their support and advice during my grows.

Here is a chart of optimum root pH:

6-7 great. Just remember you are feeding the microbes and they do their biochemical magic and feed the plants.
