Here’s my 2nd grow. Goldleaf in fox farm soil with added worm castings, perlite, neem seed meal, and rock phosphate. I’m growing wth a 5 gallon pot with 1000 watt HPS solistek light in my 4x4x7 tent. This is the first time using advanced nutrients,SCROG, and Epsom salt. I’ve been so happy with this grow and today is my birthday so I figured it’s a good day to switch to flower! I’ll update pictures all thru flower and would love some feed back and tips!

With a 1000W HPS you have a perfect set-up to yield over 1lb per plant. While your plant could be flipped to flower now, you should consider SCROG’ing to increase your surface area to light ratio. To do this you would remove the second net and bend the stems down to the first net. You can see how this is done in the tread @Grandaddy013 Gold Rush with the new chiller. Still looking for 3lbs

Do you think I could get over a pound with my set up now? I dont want to try anything to to extreme yet, maybe on the next grow. She looks beautiful so I kinda want to keep my hands off her and let her grow. But that’s a great idea thank you. Any other tips?

If you are not going to Scrog, I would suggest getting plant spread out as much as possible before getting to second screen, and get rid of a good bit of the fan leaves ( do this over the period of a week or so, not all at one time). With them growing up like that, you want them to be able to get plenty of light and air around your colas

With the plants growing vertically you are not nearly maximizing the light. You need to spread the plant horizontally (and at equal heights) in order to get over a pound from a single plant. it can be done very easily. Yes your plant is very pretty, but a bit of BDSM will do her some good and they respond well too it.

@WickedAle @Killadruid I tuck and spread as much as I could. I’ll take pictures tomorrow or Monday to show how the look. It’s hard to tell in the picture but they are really already out. Should I wait another week for flower? I’ve been cutting back my lights and tonight I was switch from 14/10 to 12/12

Nice job. Don’t worry they will look much nicer tomorrow after the BDSM shock is over. Keep bending, tying and spreading until the net is filled. May take some time but when full you should have a beautiful carpet of flower she. You finally do flip! Your 1000W will surely support such a big plant in flower so just be patient. If you want to get some cheap ties go to you nearest $ store and grab some colorful pipe cleaners in the craft section. They work great for the purpose. Loose tie to allow for stem expansion. You will start seeing side shoots popping out. Tie these down too when they get long enough. Remember it’s the leaders(terminal shoots) that will become the buds you want. Spread strategically so these leaders are evenly covering the top of the net when you flip. Using this technique you no longer want to top any of the shoots.

Also, I would keep your lighting back at 14/8 or even turn back to 18/6. You want more time to fill the net and by going to 12/12 the plant will start to flower when you’ve just started to spread her out. Also, I didn’t see a pan under you pot? How do you water to run off without a pan or something under the pot?

Looking good just keep trying to fill the tent ull get enough with what u have. Just keep tucking for the next week and I bet ur net gets filled up

I have a plate under under it rn for the runoff and I have a few pcs of bamboo elevating the my pot off the the plate
End of week 1 flower and i just feed her yesterday and gave her 5 mls of budycandy for the first time and shes already smelling better! I figured out how to adjust my lighting on my camera so better pictures from here on out.

Filling up the area nicely.
Tomorrow is the the end of week 3. Ive added big bud and bud candy. Its jumped my ppm up to 1390 but my plants are loving it. I defoliated her at the beginning of week 3 for more light pen. Do you guys do this and do you notice any difference on your harvest?
