What is the major difference between a Led light with 2835 SMD LED chip and Samsung LM281B LED chip?

Light output per watt consumed. Older, less efficient LEDs use more of the consumed wattage creating heat rather than light.

They are different generations of chips. The 2835 being the older, less effective of the 2. I would look for lights built with Samsung LM301 series diodes.
