I germed 2 seeds , both had nice tails over 1/4”. Solo cup’d em. 1 never sprouted and this is the other. Jerks.

Ok guys, im struggling here.
Ive lost 4 seeds in between germ and sprout. 1 I LGM. They germinate properly, 1/4-1/2” tail. Solo cup with Happy Frog.
First 2 , i had prewatered cups same time seeds went in ziploc. 2-2 1/2 days later germed seeds in solo cup. The cups weren’t heavy, soil was moist below surface. 1 kicked seed husk then nothing , other never sprouted. Tried 2 more , did not prewater solo cup. Same deal. Wtf.

@Sizzzl any gnat larvae awaken in your soil? @SilvaBack203 just documented where those little bastards ate his seedling sprouts!! Might need to presoak the soil in some Mosquito Bits tea.

Just a couple of questions:
- Temperature of soil
- Soil
My friend had a similar problem with them dying. Ended up being he had more or less sticks as soil - some “organic” medium the was tremendously porous. The water immediately drained out. However, you are using happy frog so that should be okay.
Switched him to FFOF and successful thru seedling rate went way up.
To die that soon, I suspect lack of water

I was thinking about soil temp…
Its hot as balls in Md , so with AC on in house, I can’t get room above 75.
I’ll have to inspect Happy Frog now. Its an open bag, tied closed in a storage tote. I haven’t noticed any gnats in grow room. Thanks.

I had it in my coco. I went looking for the seeds i planted and found gnats running away. It really sucked but i thought me a lesson
