@blackthumbbetty, it looks like the HLG’s are pretty popular around here! How do you like them so far? I have a 135W QB Kit on the way over for a tiny space.

So far, the kit was easy to assemble & everything works. I just dropped seeds into an h2o/h2o2 solution yesterday, so I haven’t yet used the light, officially. From others’ journals, though, this light should be a game changer. I can’t wait to plug her in!

After soaking for 18 hours, the seeds are now snug & cozy in their germination station. To 1 liter of h2o I added 2 ml Piranha & then soaked the rapid rooters for 5 minutes. Then, each rooter was wrung out so it was still damp, but not saturated. Using plastic tweezers, I popped each seed into their individual rooter, trying to keep the points down, if possible; I tore a tiny piece off of each rooter & covered the seed hole. Finally, they got popped into a heated & domed tray & placed into a dark grow tent. I won’t turn on the light for 24 hours, or so.
I do have the light ready to go at 24" above top of rooters, set @ roughly 50% power. Still waiting for my killawatt to know the exact power draw.
No fans are going, yet. For the first 2 weeks or so, I’m only going to use a clip fan pointed out the top vent hole for exhaust, unless tent temps/humidity demand otherwise. Once they really get going, I’ll fire up the main exhaust system.

I just turned on the light! It’s set to draw 150watts @ 24" from the top of the rapid rooters. I also gave each rooter 1tbsp h2o.
I also bought 2 bales of Promix Bx. $66 per bale, where I live! Unless major catastrophe strikes, I now have everything I need for this grow!

As of 10:08pm, all 7 seeds have popped! They’re pushing their way up, but none have lost their seed husk, yet. I have a feeling that when I check on them in the am, they’ll all be showing their heads above the rooters.

Nice job, everything looks great! Not s big deal right now, but as your grow progresses you may get a little better results running your temps a little higher with the leds.

Once I turn on the other tents’ lights, the temps will increase, but that won’t be for a few weeks. The temp will most likely increase to the mid 80’s, at that point. That’s as good as it will get, though. Oh, by then, we’ll have our heat turned on, too, so…
