Good evening to you all. First time grower ever. I have just switched from 16/12 to 12/12 lighting on non auto plants as told by fellow growers on this wonderful site . So, about how many weeks until I can expect to see ‘Buds’ forming and maybe completion of the plant till harvest? Thank you for the input…
Typically upwards of 2 weeks transition period after the flip to 12/12 and you should start to see “cotton balls” (groups of white hairs) forming at the tips of branches and bud sites.
Once you see these groups, it time to start counting weeks of flower. .
Typically a plant flowers between 8-14 weeks.
Each plant can be different in timing but most all will finish in about 8-12 weeks of flower or 10-14 weeks from the flip to 12/12.
Indicas tend to be closer to 8 weeks and sativas tend to be 10weeks or more.
Hybrids of course can be anywhere in between…
What strain ate you growing?
Great information from @1HappyPappy! Congratulations on your grow can’t wait to see some bud porn.
As previously stated, usually two weeks to get actual budlets. About 7 to 10 days to see first pistils. For regular seeds, you can expect to be able to sex them in around 10 days.
I am Growing " Green Crack" strain.
I’ve got two green crack growing now… Huge plant. Very big yields. The weed is very powerful.
If yours is from 420 Fastbuds you’ll need to practice patience as it’s a very slow grower
OMGoodness. Those are nice… How long have they been growing?
10 weeks in flower. They still have a while to go. She’s very slow
Oh wow. 10 weeks.! I’m going to Florida in early July for 2 weeks. I hope the ‘Twins’ are done by then… Thank you for the info LostGirl.
She just finished. 10 days of germinating -11 weeks in vegetation - 14 weeks of flower. I cut her down Friday. She did slightly over 1 lb of weed dried
Question for you… I am going to Florida in a couple of months for two weeks. I might not be home ( Oregon ) in time to harvest/Dry correctly. Can I just leave her to dry on the vine until I get back? Thanks for the input…
2 weeks is a very long time to leave the weed unattended whatsoever. I we guess they would die and dry out to overdry rot. I wish I could predict it better
On the other hand, if you cut her down having her up leave the fan leaves on her then I believe when you come home in 2 weeks she’ll be fine trying very slow as you left the fan leaves on.
I just did a test with that last month. I left fan leaves on a green crack and let it dry hanging 60°, 60% humidity and it took 13 days Plus two more additional days in a brown bag.
If you cross your fingers and it’s done and you can cut it before you leave then I believe you’re golden.
The worst case scenario is it overdries and you come home and trim them put them in a tupperware dish with some fan leaves or orange peels and it’ll rehydrate them and you’ll be fine
Thank you so much. First time grower here, and I need all the help. lololol
Good evening LG. I was wondering, how are your plants doing.? We are growing the same strain. My girls are about 4 months old, and seem to be doing very well, as spoken from a new grower. I will try and post pix tomorrow, if I can figure it out. Anyway, I was just wondering…
Hi Scott. All my plants have already been harvested. I take off for the summer I only grow during winter. Definitely post some pictures of your girls I love to see how they look
Very nice. Great reddish orange colors on the pistols
what strain is 'Green Crack".? I was hoping it was Sativa, but I think it might be Indica.
It starts out as a strong sativa. You’re very uppity, giggles, talkative, and high as
It then starts to come down like a ton of bricks. The sativa starts to go away and the indica kicks in high gear (not couch locking) but super stoned.
It’s by far one of my family’s personal favorites. It truly takes you to the Moon and back
