1st time growers, worried about everything 😂

Hey Grow Fam,

First-time grower here, and things have been going pretty smoothly for the last 8-9 weeks. My plant’s been healthy, and I noticed some nice flowers about 3 weeks ago. I stopped feeding nutrients and started flushing 2-3 days ago, getting ready for harvest.

But now I’m seeing these strange bulb-like structures where I pruned earlier, and I’m getting a bit worried. I assume these are pre-flowers but is it normal to get these at these late stage of flowering.

Anyone have any idea what’s going on or how to handle this? Would love some advice from the more experienced growers!

Thanks and happy growing! :seedling:

What week of flower are you in? I still see a lot of white hairs.

Thanks. Wondering how long should I wait for harvest? Planning next weekend but do not want to rush it.

I would say week 4 of flowering overall week 9. Its a easy bud from RQS. Suggested timing is 8-10 weeks from seed to harvest.

It’s called a calyx. And the hair indicates a girl. No hair would indicate male

Ouch. Congratulations you just cut off her vagina! :scream:

But is it normal to have it now with late stage of flowering? And what should I do with them? Leave as it is? :upside_down_face:

Seed website specify an approximate time to be done. No way should you have relation to it.

Got yourself a trichome microscope camera off Amazon. You’ll want to start checking your trichomes once all your white hair (pistols) have to turn orange and curl back into the buds.

It’s in my personal opinion that you have cut your nutrients off way too soon! You have 3 weeks to a month left before she’s ready. He’s done a lot of work you’ve done a great job. Don’t get impatient let her do her thing.

Here’s a link to the trichome microscope camera

It’s totally normal just ignore it. Don’t cut them off. That’s got to hurt. She’s just showing you her Va-JJ

They’re absolutely harmless

I would start back on the nutrients. She’s going to need that potassium and phosphorus to ripen her buds

My guess would be a couple weeks or so. Everything I have grown takes 8 to 10 weeks from first sign of flowering. Most the white hairs will be gone and the colored hairs will start to recede back to the bud. @Lostgirl will get you on the right track.

Looking good, I harvested my first plant too early lol, common thing to happen. I blame my excitement haha. Harvesting too early can cause headaches for people smoking your plant. Best practice is studying your plants trichomes under magnification. Too many clear = too early

Welcome to the neighborhood. I have to agree you have a few weeks to go. I haven’t heard of any plants that are ready for harvest after only 4 weeks in flower. Be patient and you will have a great harvest. And start feeding her again. Happy growing :v:

Agree with all above. You have a long way to go. It will get real frustraighting when the leaves start dieing and the trichomes still haven’t changed to cloudy.
You will be like it’s dieing and we will say wait another week or 2.
If you follow the advice given promise you will  the results.

Welcome aboard. Looking good. As mentioned most timing from sellers are marketing. 8 weeks of flower are after stretch finishes. My Kush takes 8 from finish of stretch. Gg4 was 11 or so. My sativas can go 14 on some strains. Strain dependent. Preferred type of results. Racy/stony/sedative. Always go with your eyes over their averages. Flushing is a pure choice. I NEVER flush for harvest myself. Living soil. I have before using liquid nutes with zero effect. If want just reduce amounts. You will not notice a difference flushing. Science showed almost no changes flushing.
Flushing for removal of salts or a major overfeed is a yes.
