I know it ā¦realistically I was thinking eight days but now Iām just hoping they root ?! ā¦Iām thinking probably 12 days ?
Iāve made a decision on these Autosā¦!
ā¦if anybody would like to give some input would really like to hear it because I feel this is pretty radical !?
ā¦Iām going to leave them aloneā¦!?
(I told you this snooze was over!)
patients grasshopper!
Oh you have no ideaā¦! lol
She was my problem child back in my first growth thread, if her smoke wasnāt so damn insane I would have been over her a long time agoā¦!
Journal 1/23
Never saw this before, all the top leaves are reaching up on the plants I watered last eveningā¦
GH Flora at 2-2-2 at 75% (7.5mlĆ3) is obviously too much for these plants at this point in their growth cycle
Have plenty of water warming up, if I flushed now the cold water will do more damage than if I wait. Iāll see them tonight at 9 and reassess
My personal feeling is theyāll be fine, I was going to use 50% but thatās 1-1-1 & theyāve been getting that right along, tried to turn it up, but apparently a little early
I donāt usually push newts, Iāve been getting away with it but it ends now.
ā¦when I get this fixed Iām going back to doinā it my way, Iām very happy with my somewhat reserved grow style
Well I should have been clearer, I never saw them waving so high beforeā¦!
There fineā¦! I knew theyād be fine (I said it above)
ā¦in fact, if anything they look like theyāre suffering from explosive growthā¦! (I had to raise the light an inch)
Once I check my new high-tech whiteboard Iāll figure out what PPM I fed them at and Iāll reduce it by a hundred for the next feeding
@FloridaSon This is an example where at next (plain pH) watering I will do a run off of at least 20 percent to flush out salts and lower the PPM (not a flush, just a normal 20% over-water)
ā¦from the smallest
Roots-a-poppinā!ā¦One of the wavers
ā¦A smaller lower Bud on one of the flowering adults (itās exploding with sugar)
Tomorrow in the morning The Afghani Gold will get topped, the 8-ball clones will get transplanted, Iāll consider taking more clones from the second generation of incredible bulk clones and Iāll sum up everything I did tonight in a journal entry
ā¦just wanted to put this up there now cuz I was exploding with joy at how well everythingās doing this eveningā¦!
Iām drooling! LOL
Thatās sweet isnāt itā¦! I couldnāt believe it I kinda saw it but I donāt get to the back of the tent very much, tonight when I was in there I snapped that pic, pretty amazingā¦!
Also in that clone tray pic a few above that I took yesterday those roots werenāt there, tonight theres two of them like thatā¦!
Edit: ā¦anyway I worried about the waving girls all day ( The Cult of the waving girls. It could happen)
⦠if youāve been following along I fed these plants from go to prove that fox farm ocean Forest wasnāt a āhotā soil, its people who add too many nutes -too fast, not the product ⦠and I think I showed that ?
So anyway Iām going back to my less aggressive, more mellow feeding schedule (aka the snooze)
I kind of think Iām remembering something about the waving girls ā¦when leaves reach up like that, I donāt think that was the newts, I think thatās cold water shock
I donāt even know who to call in to ask that question, to be honest ā¦maybe Iāll search Cervantes and Rosenthal tonight and see if I can find that in print ? ā¦so Iām not positive on this I just wanted to put it out there with that caveat
ā¦and if rookies or even intermediates are reading here you should read this: cuz I know I ramble on sometimes but this is the serious s***
ā¦if I was panicky when I saw those leaves reaching up and poured in cold water to panic-flush (another phrase Iām coining), I would have, if not killed those plants, I could have hermied them and/or set them back for weeks ā¦just wanted to put that out there, hope this helps
very true paranorman. usually the best thing to do when you dont know what to do, is nothing at all! From my experience growing though, leaves standing up/waving or whatever you call it has always been good in my grows. Its always been explosive growth!
Its always been explosive growth
Thatās an interesting expression! LOL
ā¦no, they stood up within an hour after I watered them so something was affecting them
I believe I recalled something about Cold water having an effect like that, but something definitely affected them and it doesnāt appear to have been the newts so I believe it is the cold water (it wasnāt extremely cold, it had been sitting on the tent floor for a day but still I usually warm it on a propagation mat for a few hours before I use it, I guess the girls like it warmer)
Make no mistake: cold water leads to root shock ā¦and thereās all levels of root shock
I suspect the waving (not sure what else to call it) was a minor manifestation of cold water root shock, and if itās too cold it will negatively affect plants as Iāve described above plants
lol they look great though man. The four i have going right now are going into their 3rd week of flower and are starting to put on their sugary frost. i am so excited! Cant wait to have grown my own weed and show it off!
Hey man make a journal put up some pictures weād like to see it and donāt forget to tag me in if you do, I want to see it tooā¦!
really!!! itās hard not to be envious!!
Cult of the waving girls (mystery solved?)
It was pretty much what PBS said (although Iāve never seen an example as extreme as this) the link has some more info about this but Iām going to take it as all positive !
honestly, nothings changed (for once everythingās dead on) I knew the newts werenāt excessively strong and the water wasnāt excessively cold but they hadnāt started doing this until 24 hours ago right after I watered so that was my first suspect, anyway this is unique, in my book at least (these plants are reaching for the sky!)
Thanks again to The Grow Mentor for their speedy reply, much appreciated!
I looked at thread and typically in my experience the wave taco shell is heat stress/light stress related leaves move to reduce direct surface area exposed. The fact it comes on right before lights out means youāre right on the border of stress
Hey Donald thanks for the reply Iāll keep that in mind and check it tonight, Iāve burnt them before lol this time there is no taco shell, itās more like a clam shell closing up on itself
Iāve never seen anything like it and they are not necessarily the ones under the light, at 64 degrees and thereās really no heat to speak of from the light plus Iāve gotten up maybe eight inches above them and only on 600 watts
Iāll double-check it again but is all I can do to keep heat in there LOL! Thanks again!
