Thats been on my mind.I have watched Kyle Kuskman doing super cropping, but
I’m just not sure I feel good about snapping those taller branches. The branches
are rock hard and I doubt I would be able to just roll the branch between my fingers to
soften it up.Any ideas?
You’ll be surprised how much the warmth and humidity of your fingers will soften them up. Patience is required. If they don’t get soft enough, you’re not out anything except a little time. ![]()
You can also use a pair of pliers with some rubber hose on them to protect the plant and squeeze them to soften up the branch then bending is easier
The only way to damage the plant is to rip the brach off keep some tape around if you feel it needs support afterward just tape it how you want it and leave it for a week then take the tape off
Plants are looking great keep it up! ![]()
Thanks Newt,sounds good.
@spankyjr1 ,I was thinking about something similar like taking to 3 or 4 inch long pieces of pvc pipe and rolling them against the branch.Your idea sounds better, thanks.
These have electric heat shrink on them
I didn’t even bother using them on these clones cut 130 days ago
You can see how much they had to be bent.
It did take some persuading
@beardless ,those are beautiful.I read your Purple Kush journal, really enjoyed
it.
Looks good.I’m going to use the needle nose pliers also.
Thanks
Well I did the bends earlier this morning and just took these pics.
All the bent branch leaves still look nice and firm as if the bends never happened LOL.
I sure hope they make it through.I used a little honey on the wounds and wrapped
them.
Now I’m wondering if I should flip next Friday or hold out another week?
Like you have done that before.
Thanks. If you see anything that looks like I need to improve on ,please let me know.
Will do. I’m not absolutely sure of this but when the stems have healed and strong enough to support themselves again, I would remove the plastic wrap. They usually heal pretty fast so in a couple of days.
Hey thanks,I was wondering about that plastic.I noticed when I used the needle nose
pliers,I may have been to aggressive and the outer stem skin cracked in a few spots.
That is hard to avoid. They crack and split on me too. If you have a aloe vera plant around, the jell does a great job sealing the wound and promotes repair. Some use organic honey instead.
Some of us feel honey is preferred. It offers antiseptic properties, as well as moisturizing for the affected area.
Those are the same reasons aloe vera is used. I would be more inclined to cut open up an aloe leaf to apply to a burn than I would honey. The same goes for small lacerations.
On humans, I concur. On my cannabis, it’s honey for me.
Thanks,I don’t have that plant but I will check into it.Been using some honey since we
had half a jar in the kitchen that doesn’t get much use.
