Yield on auto flower

I grow completely outdoors.

Rapid rooters are amazing. Compressed peat with a spongey texture & water holding capacity. Make germination fool-proof.

Rapid Rooter or Jiffy Pod. Both are great!

Rapid rooter always works with a heat mat germination station when they hit the roof take autos right to the big pots and bury once roots come out the bottom

Iā€™m new to growing and ty for suggesting curing very slowly. Any other advice on curing? Pic is sexy as hell.

Cut the whole plant at the base and hang upside down for 7-10 days (till the stems bend but not break off). Then take down and trim the buds off with the stem they live on. Put those in a brown paper bag for another 7-10 days. Shake every day. From there, you can clean the buds off, trim to clean up, and jar. Vacuum seal the jars and open daily to let them breathe off the gases (burping the jars). Do this for 10 days (or so). From here, you can jar them with 62% Bovida packs (no vacuum seal). Burp once a month.

This is how I was taught. There is ā€œset in stoneā€ way though.

Happy Growing :metal::sunglasses:

Thanx a bunch

Do you really need to vacuum seal the jars every day, or can you just put the lid back on?

There is nothing set in stone but a slow dry and cure is best. I have never jarred without vacuum as part of the process but I know of others who have just hung dry then cured for 9 months in a humidor. Can also do a dry and cure with large 62% Boveda packs for a long time (jarred-no vacuum)

You will still need to burp every month or so

So I got my notebook out here and I am taking notes. Is it ok if you donā€™t vacuum seal the jars? I actually donā€™t even know what you mean by that. The only way I know how to do that is to fill a jar almost to the top and then heat in a waterbathā€¦ like when you are canning but I doubt that is what you are meaning.
What is the difference between cutting the whole plant down versus portioning out the individual branches and hanging? I assume it would be faster and dry slower but Iā€™m a little unsure.
One more question. I looked up Bovida packs ( because I have no clue what they are) and from what I read it seems like it puts moisture into the room. I thought you didnā€™t want moisture in the jar because it can cause the buds to mold. I thought that was the same reason you burped them was to release some of that gas and moisture. Sorry Iā€™m still learning!

@shungitewhap - Good morning. Hope you are having a good day.

You would need to get a vacuum sealer that has the jar attachment. They are not that expensive and can be found at most big box stores. Amazon also sells them. I can send you Amazon links so you see exactly what they are. Let me know.

Hanging whole vs stem cuttings - slower dry if you hang the whole plant. You want to take down and bag/jar when the stem bend snaps but not so brittle dry it bend breaksā€¦

Boveda packs go in the jars along with your weed. They are humidity packs to allow you to slow cure and keep your product fresh after the cure. After the dry, curing with humidity packs develops the aroma, flavor, and smooth smoking product.

Hope this helps a little.

After the burping routine, just store with Bovedaā€™s in the jar, lid on tight, cool dark room to store for a year or moreā€¦

I didnā€™t use a vacuum sealer. I cut, dried, jarred into mason jars, burped for 30 days and finally 62% packs.

This last harvest I cut, dried, jarred, 62% packed and burped once day for last 30 days. Today makes 30 days since jarring and rhe smell gets better and better.

Boveda packs are not necessary for the cure, but they do come in handy for long-term storage. If you get the 62%, it will keep your buds from getting too dry and from developing unwanted mosture during storage.

A vacuum sealer also isnā€™t necessary for curing. Youā€™ll want preferably glass jars with lids that are air & water tight. You can use plastic, but you might get a funky flavor in your buds. You can use those vacuum button canisters, if you want, too.

Yes it helps immensely! Thanks for taking the time to break it down for me

i got 3es though.

Holy crap 360 gramsā€¦ I had to do the conversion to ounces on that because my mind canā€™t even fathom it lol. If you wouldnā€™t mind please elaborate on the nutes situation. I have ordered a brand that was recommended by a friend for using with coco coir and after reading about them I am really scared about overdoing it. On another forum someone said to only use 1/4 strength of any nute brand, another person said always 1/2 strength. What is a good way to do your first nute dose and when do you recommend starting the schedule? I am currently overloaded with information so I am trying to make a growing schedule so I can remember when I am suppose to do all the different things.

Lol. Yeah still finding my way around the forums. Only got a couple days on here. Why use a water spritzer and not just a humidifier? I am asking cause I am currently sitting at 21% humidity and have to take drastic measures to resolve.
