Hello all,
This is my ~12 week old girl from a random seed I planted. About to start the flowering cycle and i noticed there is some yellowing leaves and some small spots of dark purple almost on some leaf tips. Im growing in fox farm ocean forest and watering with ph6-6.5 as needed. I recently top dressed the soil with happy frog dry amendments as i figured the nutes that were already in the FF OF had been depleted. Are these possibly signs of an overload of nutes? Or am I missing something else?
Also, how much defoliation do yall think this girl needs and/or could handle?
Are you checking your run off water for pH and ppm?
Will need more info for people to help you more…

Answer these simple questions the best you can.
If you do not know, or do not use something; Just say so; Or post
NA (non applicable)
-What strain, Seed bank, or bag seed (photo or auto)
-Age of plant
-Method: Soil w/salt, Organic soil, Hydroponics, Aquaponics, KNF
-Vessels: Type and capacity of container (fabric, plastic, etc)
-PH and TDS of Water, Solution, runoff (if Applicable)
-PPM/TDS or EC of nutrient solution if applicable

If growing Hydro some additional questions:
-DWC? RDWC? Autopots? Ebb and Flow? Other?
-Distance of liquid below net pot (DWC)
-Temperature of reservoir
-TDS of nutrient solution
-Amount of air to solution
Always try to upload a clear picture in white light of any issues you may have to allow the
Mmm they look hungry, like they’re lacking in some stuff but I strongly advise more opinions, I’m only on grow 1. @spankyjr1@PurpNGold74@Aussie_autos have helped me through my process and are much more experienced than I am, what you guys think?
I would definitely clean up the canopy and under carriage for sure, anything that’s not getting light OR blocking light so like big fan leaves and what not. You want to allow better light penetration and air flow especially later into flower
How are you watering?
Do your plastic pots have drain holes?
Cannabis likes wet to dry cycles where you water until 10-20% runoff then let dry and repeat, check PPM and PH of the runoff you get into the tray’s that will let us know how much nutrients are left in the soil
Looks like you could use some calmag FF soils are lacking and should be added on water only days
Feed/water/feed/water
Fill out the support ticket best you can
Looks like you may be having a PH issue with lack of cal and mag which could be related

*Some explanation on the ones with the asterisks:
Initially planted in FF soil along with some Happy Frog. This was my first time using FF OF so I wasnt fully aware how hot it is and that it would feed the plant for about 6 weeks. So I waited until about week 10 to top dress her, figuring the extra 4 weeks would be a big enough buffer. Also, didnt figure out until the other day that my ph meter is dysfunctional and I cant find my TDS reader at all. Getting those replaced asap so I can fine tune my water readings…even so I havent seemed to have issues up until after the top dressing.
Also, I am concerned about my light being able to get her through the finish line. It was a budget purchase and I havent been able to get it upgraded yet.
What would be the easiest way to add CalMag? I havent used liquid nutes ever, only dry amendments.
The pH meter sounds exactly like the issue. Fluctuating pH is the root of all evil. That and Spider Mites… damn mites… but i digress.
Might I recommend the Apera 20 for a pH meter? Its absolutely a gamechanger and cost effective.
Tds meter matters less. Get a cheapie.
Calmag is simple enough. Bone meal is a good organic dry source of calcium. Epsom salt is the go to for Magnesium. My home is never without Epsom since I started growing.
Or you could just grab a bottle of calmag. 2 tsp per gallon and ur right back on track (pH’d properly of course).
How u do liquid nutes is…
Get water. If its tap test it for pH and ppm before adding anything. If its bottled, distilled, or RO, no need to test. Go to step 2.
Add amendment. And shake. Shake somemore.
Test solution. If pH is low, adjust up. If it is high, adjust down. Record ppms.
Pour SLOWLY in circles. Stop. Let it soak up. Pour somemore. By this point ull have some trickling out the bottom. Catch this in a cup. Test and compare to original numbers.
