I hate to bug you @Drinkslinger, here are some update photos from this evening. Do I need to be concerned with the tips turning brown and feeding within the next few days? I can’t imagine it’s nute burn with the PPM I was reading. I’m planning on feeding based on your advice above this Friday/Saturday. Thanks again for the help.
Were the tips green before and just turned yellow today?
With a runoff Ppm in the 400’s I wouldn’t expect that.
By any chance does your tds meter/Ppm readout only have 3 digits, and have a small “x10” displayed somewhere if the numbers go beyond 999?
The tips were green in the past few days and I noticed a few of the larger fan leaves having burnt edges. There are still some of the lower leaves which are yellow. The plant has grown a bit since Sunday/Monday and the newer growth does look healthy.
The meter I got will read up to 4 digits and doesn’t say anything about x10.
There might have been a couple of leaves like that towards the top of the plant but not many. The new growth shows no edge discoloration and there are lower leaves with no edge burn. I’m also wondering if heat stress could do this since I did prior to Saturday keep the plant outside in the dead sun with temps close to 90 and high humidity.
@Drinkslinger @Cannabian. Here are some updated photos from today. I haven’t watered since Tuesday afternoon and did not end up feeding like I had planned Friday. I’m still seeing some edge burn, but it doesn’t appear on every leaf. The first picture shows some yellowing on new growth which was not present yesterday. Should I just continue to water like normal or should I plan on feeding in the near future?
Honestly, it doesn’t look bad at all. If your runoff ppms were in the 400’s, I’d plan to feed.
Going into direct sun from indoors can be rough on plants, especially if temps are in the 90’s. I’m not surprised there are a few unhappy leaves.
I never had the plants indoors. They’ve alwasy been out in the sun and I only moved them into my greenhouse a week ago because it was too big for my deck with nosey neighbors. I’ll plan on feeding then the next time I water.
Maybe they smoke pot?
Man I say keep her outside, imho. Plus you don’t want to risk contamination of your grow room with pest if you plan on using that spot this winter. Don’t procrastinate on feeding and watering. Keep a schedule unless they are wet.
@Drinkslinger. Just wanted to say thanks for the help and give an update. I ended up feeding with all three FF trio nutrients this past Sunday and PH’d the water to 6.9. My runoff PPM was around 700 but my PH was 6.1; I also watered less than I usually would as I think I was overwatering. Here are a couple of updated pics:
Most of the plant seems to be doing okay, but I’m still seeing some yellowing. I’m assuming my ppms are still low and hopefully improve with more feedings. Still kinda worried about the tips being burnt a little, but a majority of the larger colas appear healthy with no burn. I plan on watering tomorrow (maybe with some cal/mag) and increasing the PH of the water based off my last runoff. Feeding next week since I’ll be gone all weekend. Hopefully I can keep this girl going til the end.
Don’t worry about a little burnt tips, it’s really common for fox farms nutes.
Keep the input pH up until the runoff stabilizes around pH 6.7. If you’re putting in pH 6.9, and runoff is pH 6.1, your soil is still far below pH6.0.
Glad to help.
@Drinkslinger. Got an update and wanted your opinion. Over the labor day weekend I watered before I left for the weekend but came home to a severely thirsty plant that had lost a lot of its leaves. The plant did survive but I lost a majority of the fan leaves and the leaves that were left were burnt. I’ve been feeding weekly with FF nutes from the picture above and making sure my PH is proper. Fed this morning, PH in was 6.8, runoff PH was 6.48, and PPM was 1400. Is there anything I can do to keep the plant going to the end as I seem to be be getting good new growth which seems to yellow with a few days? Here are some updated pics.
Any help would be appreciated.
