Will this work as a replacement?

Thinking of wiring in 2 of these drivers in place of a blown meanwell but confused about the phase dimming. Lmk what you think?

@dbrn32 probably would know best. Meanwell will probably replace it if it’s not that old.

You need triac dimming for those drivers. Also worth noting the meanwell is cv/cc driver and and driver you posted to replace is cc. May not be compatible replacement.

Is there a reason you’re just not getting a replace meanwell?

I am getting the replacement meanwell but wanted to try something while I was waiting for it to arrive. Got about 50 of these drivers. Anyhow I hooked one up to a 120w panel and it barely lit I mean barely. Oh well

Not high enough voltage i suspect.

Yeah that’s it. It only pushed 32v when the meanwell pushed 48v and was wired parallel. Anyhow that driver was from a spider farmer 2000 original model. I took a XLG-240-h-a meanwell from a knockoff brand light I have and installed it and it turned the sf2000 into a beast. Ordered another XLG. I was told my ELG may still be under warranty. You know anything about that and the process?

I can explain what happened if you care to know.

Elg-240 pictured above is only a 240 watt driver when input power is over 200vac. Plugged into 120v receptacle the output current is regulated to 75% (3.75a). Two boards wired in parallel is approximately 1.875a per board at full power. The xlg-240h-a is a constant power driver. So there is some level of change in the current/voltage relationship. At 48v this driver is capable of producing current maybe around 5000ma or a little higher. Which would be +/- 2500ma per board at full power.

There should definitely be an increase in light output with the xlg driver. You may want to check what current ratings are on the boards though.

Most definitely. I’m finding out light manufacturers claim the wattage of the driver and not what the diodes are pulling. Sly foxes they are. Will check amp draw when I get home but I have a feeling I’m in range

Good news. My driver arrived
Bad news. They sent a HLG 48v driver. I guess it’s not all bad considering the Enfun couldn’t handle the 60v driver hardly any only a little more than half power. But when I ordered I made sure it was the XLG. Maybe the hlg replaces the XLG???

Hlg driver is more expensive than elg and xlg. Doesn’t necessarily make it better, but it will definitely work.
