Will this light suffice

How about some more pictures, and as resent as possible. Don’t mean to scare you but it looks like maybe male parts on the second picture. It is hard to tell from from the picture, and it may be just the starting of branching. Try to zoom in at nodes at the base of the fan leaves close too the tips. I am concerned about the little ball shaped new growth at this node. I definitely see some female flowering developing.

Sorry about that! The last pictures looks like all girl. Some strains during transition into flowering the start of new branches can resemble male flowers. I think maybe that is what I am seeing. Again what I was seeing was in the second pic at the tip close to the base of the first leaves, and kinda looked like a couple little balls. When I tried to expand the picture it became blurry.

Just got my light hung up . Have it about 16’ from canopy.
Quick question… does it come already set at highest or do i need to turn it up?

I would think that it would had been tested at 100%, and left there.
Why don’t you use that phone app and check the light level. Here is a chart that some here use. I loosely follow it’s peaks and valleys and levels in DLI. You can set the app for a 12 or 18 hour light schedule when on the DLI mode.

Also be sure to close your tent door when taking reading. I peep it the phone through a small crack in the door.

Shall do,appreciate it

Some blue in flower is proven to be good in flower as long as there is plenty of red as well. Improves terps for sure. Hlg’s flagship diablos have a lot of blue but alot of red as well

@Poseidon1, I am presently running a Diablo light, and are correct in what you stated.
My point was the contradictory claims of that manufacturer’s own advertisement. Usually a light that is heavier on blue than other colors is classified as a veg light. The chart that they posted would suggest that it is veg light, and the written claims say how great is for flowering.
Glad that you questioned me on this! Now I can let it rip like a fart in church.
Does anyone really believe that China would allow these companies to test their products by growing weed with them? Actually these companies know very little about what they make. They just buy someone’s quality light, and reverse engineer it. By cutting components quality, using extremely cheap labor, and taking advantage of very unfair trade laws to produce products. They can flood the market with their cheap unproven stuff.
I am not saying that all companies on Amazon are like this. But please people, when you are reading about a product online. If they make contradictory claims, unrealistic claims, or do not describe their products with correct English grammar let this be a big red flag to you. I am amazed at how often terms like “for more better”, are being used.
Kinda like learning to read your plants, it is good to know how weed out the bad suppliers by good exam of their advertisements.

You will never hear me advocate a china light either. I run350r’s myself. I just know blue does work and will work great with red. In the old days…some people would run metal halide longer at flip to reduce the stretch because that is what red can really do. Even more, switch back to metal halide from high pressure sodium to improve the terps. In tge final two weeks. Just was under impression u thought blue will not work for flower at all. Thought i have read your opinion on this more then once. Nice choice of light by the way.

Back in the mid 90s I had a little closet grow, and it used a 400 watt MH all the way though flower. I didn’t know that much about back then, and there was not much grow info available back then either. I just followed an old HighTimes article. But this was some of the best that I have ever done.
I am reluctantly starting to agree with some about modern seed genetics.

I hear you. I was doing it back then too. I will say this, the best ive ever grown was with non feminized seeds back in the l8te 90s. Difference now adays is the weight and strength. Get alot more of it but i feel the taste was betterback in the day. Yup all my knowledge came from high times back then!

Good old HighTimes! I was always afraid to subscribe to them directly. The magazine distributor in my hometown would not carry them. There was a little store in another town about 60 miles away, and they would get about 5 copies a month. If I was lucky enough to be working there at the right time I could pickup a copy. Boy was it well read before I could get a new copy.

Sorry for hijacking your thread, and taking it to China and back, then down memory lane.

Lol that’s what makes these threads fun in my opinion  . I like hearing the stories. My old man recently passed and i found a briefcase full of old seeds in the attic while cleaning out the house. This has started my current hobby :slightly_smiling_face:
