Why are the trichomes not turning amber on auto

It was the led lighting. If you look at the upper most node you will see the sac. The PH is perfect with the runoff, they only get R/O water and the timing for the nutes is perfect. The humidity is 45%, day temp 73, night temp 69. Picture under normal lighting is attached. I am not worried about any deficiency or imperfect PH. I am worried that they are going to produce seeds. The auto’s are fine because they will be cut in a few days and the sacs are still immature to produce pollen on the non autos. So I just need a second opinion on whether or not to cut them and get on with the next. Thanks

Hi they were pollen sacks. Not so big on the non autos. Thanks

Do you know ANYTHING about growing?
You DONT want amber trichs, amber trichs are a sign that the CBD is degrading and you’re LOSING potency.
The plant has teh highest % of thc when all the trichs are cloudy, BEFORE any go amber. Theres also the fact that the 2 autos you are growing, ARE SATIVAS. Sativas are known for their uplifting cerebral high, THAT IS CAUSED BY CLOUDY TRICHS. Amber trichs are CBD rich which causes that couch lock sleepy effect, which is mostly found in INDICAS.
You trying to get a sativa like amnesia haze to grow amber trichs, is just sad. By the time the plant starts producing amber trichs, the THC is going to have degraded so much, you’re going to have shit weed that doesnt really get you high, but puts you to sleep instead.
For sativas, 100% cloudy with 0% amber trichs.
For indicas, 80% cloudy with 20% amber trichs.
I truly feel bad for those poor plants, they could have been absolutely insane, bordering on psychadelic if you harvested them when they were ready. Fucking amber trichs, who the hell wants to be locked to their couch xD Old dudes dont think they’re high unless they can hardly keep their eyes open, rofl.
Couch lock sleepy weed doesnt mean its strong or good lol.

Im sure it was done at week 10 when all the trichs were cloudy. You let it go WAY too long, and probably lost at least 10% thc off what it COULD have been.
Sure, you grew some decent 18% thc bud that gets you stoned and smells good and is sticky, but if you harvested at week 10-11, youd have closer to 25% thc.

Do you know you are responding to a four year old post?

This type of attitude wont fly here. Its common on other forums, but not appreciated here.
We would surely like you to stay and be a part of the forum, but this is a friendly place. Why would you respond like this in your very first post?

Be a member here? LOL, the shit I grow, I’ve been growing from clone since 99 and and would tower over anything you guys produce, its also been tested at 29% thc.
I dont need to be here, I just came here to bash morons who keep shooting for amber trichs. Unless you’re a cancer patient or in extreme pain, amber trichs are a BAD thing, yet I keep seeing people who want a good high, RUIN their plants by going for 30% amber trichs.
Kick me, I dont give a fuck xD Fucking triggered snowflakes roflmao, what a world we live in where people cant take a tiny bit of criticism or harassment XD

Still valid when people come here looking for information and see you morons all harvesting at amber trichs XD
Gotta update things so people know that amber trichs = less thc.

An elementary school student asked me the NOT “politically correct” question, “Is an idiot smarter than a moron?” I had to Google it because I was afraid to respond in today’s PC society and didn’t want to offend him, his parents, or anyone else. Here’s what I found. Technically, a moron is smarter than an idiot. An imbecile is also smarter than an idiot. Although today the words are considered insulting and derogatory, prior to the 1960s they were widely used as actual psychology terms associated with intelligence on an IQ test. An IQ between: 00-25 = Idiot 26-50 = Imbecile 51-70 = Moron Explaining all of this to a nine year old with an IQ of 130 made me feel like society has turned all adults into one of the above, myself included. When I told him that I’m afraid to openly say it, the nine year old said, “Adults are idiots!

Edit PS:

There’s no “winning” when it comes to dealing with Internet trolls. Conventional wisdom says, “Don’t engage. It’s what they want.” Is it? Are you sure our silence isn’t what they want? Are you sure they care what we do at all? From where I’m sitting, if I respond, I’m a sucker for taking the bait. If I don’t respond, I’m a punching bag. I’m the idiot daughter of an embarrassed dead guy. On the record. Forever.

I know this is an old thread, but I just have to say a few things; There is a lot of misinformation out there right now about what constitutes good cannabis. Since recreational marijuana became legal in the state of Maryland, I have not been able to get any killer bud. I know for a fact that this is because they’re not letting it finish. This “couch lock“ thing that I keep hearing is a gross oversimplification of what can happen to weed when it’s let go for too long. If the bud has lost that much THC, you’ve let it go way past Amber.
I won’t point anybody out directly, but there’s no need to be insulting and egomaniacal. To behave that way and pass on mis-information is much worse.
When you talk to California growers, they’ll tell you that their stuff is best because they let their stuff finish. That means Amber trichomes!
I’m getting extremely frustrated with the fact that you need a medical card to get decent weed! I don’t want to take 10 hits to get high.
The best weed I’ve ever smoked was when I realized I was staring at the floor with a bowl still in my hand, 20minutes after I took a single hit. That’s good weed! And that does not happen with simply milky trichomes. if I don’t want to be staring at the floor after one hit, next time, I pack a little less in the bowl. And after, I’m getting stuff done around the house, and working on music and many other things. I usually don’t end up on the couch until the buzz is worn off. then I take another hit and guess what? It helps me relax. It sort of goes along with where you are.
Two of my friends both grew the most killer weed you ever smoked in your life and amber was key!
If you’re that much against amber, there is a good possibility that weed may not be the experience you are looking for. Especially if you’re behaving like you’re on something else anyway

I came here looking for the same answer that the man who started this thread asked. I have no experience with auto flower. Is it difficult or more difficult to get amber trichomes from auto flower?

I think auto flowers do whatever they want. I have one going now on her 13th week and still has a few more weeks of ripening to go.

That’s about where I am as well. Thanks for your reply even if we don’t know what’s going on it’s nice to know you’re in company. Would you mind sharing; What kind of auto flower is it? What stage have the tri-combs reached? Thanks again.

@Ambertrich I’m growing Biscotti auto from ilgm. Looks like maybe 50/50 clear/cloudy now.

Hey @Ambertrich , welcome to the forum.
I liked your well thought out post. When it comes to dispensaries, the issues I imagine are contributing are mostly business related. Here in Missouri it was 2019 before anything legal was available. From the standpoint of the growers, letting the plant go another two to four weeks would add a large additional cost to the product. then if you think about that product sitting on a shelf in a dispensary next to Mr. Fast Farms peak THC weed, the customer looking at the label only sees that Fast Farms has a THC of 29% but the one harvested later only has 23% THC. So the customers buy the Fast Farms. The dispensary quits buying much of the other growers product even though if smoked side by side most people would prefer the 23% one because as you said, there is more to the actual effects than just THC numbers. But dispensary owners are in it for the money and will eventually do what the customers demand.
Home growers would benefit greatly if they simply did their own testing/research on when to harvest. Take a plant that has reached a mature level of growth. Perhaps the trichs are 50/50 clear cloudy. Go ahead and take a sample bud and dry it. Then at 80/20 , then 90/10, then 100% cloudy, and 90/10 cloudy amber and so on and on. Educate yourself as to what each stage has to offer. Personally I like sativas harvested at 10% clear. I just love the effect of that stage.
Here on the forum we get lots of people who post pictures asking if their plant is done. Mostly we just offer opinions, but it would be so much better to tell them to do what I said above. Get a loupe and take samples. Decide for yourself what you desire. This is almost like asking what the best pizza is. Maybe I like frozen pizza! (I don’t) But some things are just subjective and people vary in what we want.
Anyway I hope you hang around. Most people here are pretty chill and just plain good folks. The troll who posted his diatribe left as fast as he arrived. Nobody like that stays around.
