Who’s going to try the new Phylos Strains?

They were going to try and patent strains so they could regulate and charge. This was the idea they had before anything as they were on a couple of weed boards asking for seed originally.

Sure they will sell well and cool backstory, ILGM should have taken the original order and stolen their genetics repackaging as ILGM genetics. Now that would have been even cooler.

Some of thoes strains look interesting might try 1 or 2 out eventually

Which do you fancy trying?

Gelato sunrise and yuzo euphoria for starters

I don’t know that EZ Bake strain but it’s in a lot of them, gelato wasn’t my thing, the Yuzu euphoria sounds nice and interesting.

Also ILGM I briefly paused at your Super Skunk, upto 14% THC!? Is that a typo, shouldn’t it be 20%…

Yes the Afghani came from ILGM. I tried some in a DWC last fall, but it didn’t work out for me. These three are in soil and growing like gangbusters. I’ll post updates as the grow progresses.

Well what I find acceptable you might not :)) also my seeds were purchased during a sale. I got 100 seeds for 125$ but I spent around 200$ that week and ended up with roughly 185 seeds and I gave around 40 away for Xmas gifts!

Also none are feminized. Again hyped seed👎🏻

I’m not afraid to find a male! I popped a seed about 5 weeks ago and about 2 weeks ago it showed male. It was an autoflower. I killed it only because I don’t have a place setup for males yet.

Ah, got it, thanks… It’s been a long time since I’ve bought anything since I unintentionally grew a tent full of multiple strains of auto-fem seeds, but if you had a source for new stuff ~$1/auto…, it’s hard to beat good quality free though.

From the rabbit hole I went down yesterday and speaking with other breeders it does seem to be the same company. Also read an interesting article from High times about this from a former employee who was part of the genetic mapping.

I am at a cross road as ILGM has beem my go to place for fair priced seeds with varieties.

While I’m here paying $100 for 12 seeds! :joy: I do love great quality genetics, I think ilgm is great for beginners or those who just think “weed is weed, if I can smoke it that’s all I need”! I’m more of a connoisseur, I like knowing the lineage and all of most strains I encounter. I think that’s the big difference in price with many seed breeders / companies.

At the end of the day though, it’s all personal preference

I too am more into exotics and lineage tracing, but ilgm is def competitive.

I wouldn’t say it’s for beginners or people “who just think weed is weed,” because it’s simply not true. I run strains from all over the place, consistently.

Just because ilgm is/was more basic doesn’t mean they can’t hold their own. More info would be great, but at the end of the day it doesn’t really matter.

I’d agree! But it’s honestly just competition of who has better white labels. Companies purchase seeds in bulk, you honestly don’t really know if you have the real strawberry cough, white widow, etc. hence where the traced lineage means something. Of course it’s all based on preference and what you’ve tried and who you’d like to support. But this is just one man’s opinion. I’d prefer to support breeders directly if they’re trying to replicate popular strains, etc.

Nice grows though, not bad!

It should be noted that a successful grow is 10% genetics, 90% the grower.

And that’s why some very old strains are still some of the best today

Even if they trace the genetics you’re kind of taking them at their word. The only satisfactory proof to me would be if I’m familiar with the strain and the grow produces what I’m familiar with.

But even then, phenotypes can differ and who knows? Maybe the strain I’m ‘familiar’ with wasn’t what it was sold as in the first place.

As long as the seeds produce healthy, potentially potent plants I’d call the genetics good. Great if they produce the advertised effects - cerebral high, super relaxed, max euphoria etc.

I’d like to try all the different genetics eventually. Too bad they take so long to grow. Need a grow house so I can move this pet project/hobby/obsession along. :joy:

I have been happy with ILGM. I’ve been smoking since the 70s haven’t smoked anything better than buds grown from ILGM beans. Some of the most frosty & sticky nugs I’ve ever seen, my friends agree. I however have purchased some strains that have been mentioned on this forum that ILGM doesn’t carry.

I decided to give the seeds a shot. So far 18 days from germination and they are impressing me. Growth on par with an autoflower these are photoperiod, healty very uniformed growth.

I got the Pineapple donut and Cheddar cheese! going!

I’m a tireless advocate for ILGM. Thus far overgrown ILGM Gold Leaf Fem, White Widow Auto, and Grand Daddy Purple Kush Auto. They’ve all been high-quality seeds and experiences. Last week, I received my ILGM Apple Fritter Auto seeds. I’m looking forward to working with that!
