I agree with @Autos-only on the tent packages. I decided to buy everything separate because the lights in the kits are just entry level, and your light is gonna be the most important purchase. Ac infinity is high quality with everything I bought from them. 2x4x6 tent with controller, 4” exhaust fan setup, and humidifier. I recently bought a vivosun 2x2 tent to start a plant or 2 before moving to flower tent. I gotta say that the quality of ac infinity tent is night and day compared to vivosun. I can see light leaks in the fabric, the zippers get stuck when opening and closing if not careful. I would say when shopping for a light go with at least 300 watts. I am using a mars hydro sp3000 in my 2x4 and it’s doing great for 2 plants through flower. Do your homework and shop around a little, read reviews on particular lights.
Agreed on the kit. I bought one and had to upgrade the light. Tents 2 and 3 I pieced together and much happier.
Thank you
If I were you, if you really want to grow your own, I’d wait until you can get a suitable light for doing so. Seeds are expensive, and it a waste of time and money if you don’t have the proper light. You need between 40 and 50 true watts per square foot. HLG has some excellent lights. They’re expensive, but that’s just an investment that has to be made. You just can’t get around dropping some cash on a light. I’ve always told people I know who are interested in growing that plan on spending at least $1,000 to get everything you need to successfully grow a plant that will yield well.
Please anyone know what’s wrong with these leaves? Plant is beginning to flower.
It’s driving me crazy
This plant is in a old metal wash tub
Its beginning to flower
This is driving me crazy please help me.
Just need to know what’s wrong with it
I’m not really familiar with deficiencies or diagnosing a problem too much as I’m only on my first grow. It looks like a powdery mold almost. How often are you watering ? Any drainage holes in metal tub? Could be your ph is off, could be calcium or nutrient deficiency … even spider mites or bugs. I would say create a new topic . But I’ll tag a few who have helped me a lot. @ChittyChittyBangin @1HappyPappy @MidwestGuy
For sure when I start my next grow I will be keeping a journal.
Hey guys been a few weeks. So ply plant was getting big and bushy as I did top it. I had a sudden move in the middle of of spring and out of 4 I kept one plant and even this one I have at my front door now in a remodelled dog cage lol but it’s working and a way of keeping it safe. Screwed to the deck and locked in a sense since I am 2nd story and basically screaming hello here it is. But it was just hitting preflower and getting so big I FIM it. Like BIG time. Here is is 5 days later, I am just wondering. Who can tell me approx. where it’s at and how long to go for a line Apple express Fem?
Looking at both AC Infinity and Spider Farmer 3’x3’ 6’ tent kits here is what I see. AC offers only one 3x3 light at 240w with Samsung LM301B diodes. (side note AC advertises another 3x3 light but it is in development and ready for sale) Spider has two offerings both 300W with one (SE series) featuring Samsung LM301B diodes and the other (G series) using Bridgelux diodes. The Spider kit comes with the G series, I would switch it out with the SE series. The AC kit is $700, The spider with the light change would be $618. I lean towards Spider because of higher wattage and many seem to prefer the Samsung diodes also it is less expensive (not by much granted) Please give me your thoughts
Ok great
I just looked up both the lights I think you’re talking about. Ac infinity ionboard s33 and spider farmer se3000. Few things I see… the spider although meant for a 3x3 only says it does a 2x2 flowering footprint. So your light coverage is going to drop off a lot on the edges. Scroll through the pictures of the light and check out the ppfd coverage at different hanging heights. The coverage on spider farmer isn’t so great it appears. The ionboard although 60 watts less has much better coverage and will flower a 3x3 and your ppfd numbers stay pretty high along edges. I don’t know anything about spider farmer brand, I’m biased towards ac infinity for tent quality, their clip on fans and exhaust system and humidifier. Don’t know much about their lights, but everything else is high quality. I personally would piece together a kit. I would get the tent and exhaust system from ac, and check out hlg lights and mars hydro lights ts3000 model comes to mind. One thing you don’t wanna do is skimp on a good light.
I noticed that 2x2 flowering spec and questioned it in my mind. just didn’t seem right. The way everyone emphasizes the importance of light is why I’m doing this much research. With the exception of the light, all the kits I checked out ,in my opinion, their components do not seem any different no real difference at all. With all this in mind what wattage should I be looking at? Also I did notice the AC Infinity came with a 6" filter. For a 3’x3’x6’ tent should I use a 4" or 6".
I’ve read a lot of people on here say that 40-50 watts per sq ft is a good number to go by. I’ve also heard 150-200 watts per plant is a good rule of thumb. I’ve got a 300 watt in a 2x4 with 2 plants and the buds are rock hard and I’m very pleased. Haven’t had to run above 75% power at all either, up until flower I was only using 50% power. I have a4” exhaust system in mine I think you will be fine with 4” also.
I just bought the same 3x3 tent and went with the 4 inch fan. I haven’t set it up and grown yet, but I think 4inch will exhaust that size tent pretty quick.
The 3x3x6 tent is 54 cubic feet and the ACI T4 is rated for 205 CFM. That means it could exhaust all the air in the tent almost 4 times per minute. I know it won’t run the efficiently, but that’s plenty. If my memory is right, aiming to fully exchange air in the tent once per minute is the rule of thumb for ventilation.
Thanks Shaggy1987 and GardenDan. What about physical size of the light. Will a 4x4 light fit in a 3x3 tent.
Depends on the light. Check the manufacturer’s website, should give the physical dimensions of the light.
Well for better or worse this is what I’m going with, Mars Hydro Smart FC3000 300w ight. The tent is AC Infinity 3’x3x’6’. The Air Filtration Kit is the AC Infinity PRO 6", Inline Fan with Smart Controller, Carbon Filter & Ducting Combo. The Clip Fan is the AC Infinity CLOUDRAY S6, with 10 Speeds, EC-Motor, Auto Oscillation. At this point I’m going to stop this post and when the tent is set up I’ll be be back with hundreds of new questions on my next steps. THANK YOU one and all for your help and support. I’m looking forward to the next step.
Solid choices, you’ll be happy with that light
Anyone know best fertilizer for outdoor weed plants 20days in flower??
