So this isnt my plant but an example and im curious when on my next run, should you start feeding depending on the actual leaves? Or also the cotyledons when they themselves start showikg deficiences? Ive read you want them to dry up and fall of and ive seen people feed with em still on so which one? Thank you everyone
What soil will you be using? Most good cannabis soils don’t need fed for ~4 to 6 weeks from your last transplant.
Do you have a PPM meter? Nutrients should be managed by monitoring runoff PPM, which should be maintained at ~1,000.
Ill be using a 2 to 1 blend of foxfarms happy frog and ocean forest and yeah i just got a ppm meter to go with my ph meter as well. Gonna be ysing synthetic nutrients with a pretty reliable 100 watt light. Measured the ppfd its within range so dont see an issue there.
Your soil has sufficient nutrients for 4 to 6 weeks from your last transplant. After that, monitor runoff PPM and begin feeding when PPM is < 1,000.
Ill kerp that in mind and feed when its below 1000 thank you appteciate it. Community is awsome
You are going to need more light than 100 watts. More like double, per plant.
Yeah unfortunately those lights are a bit of my my budget plus im not growing momster plants mainly autoflowers so on the smaller side. Ppfd is the main thing and i can get 700 from like 20 25 inches away so as far as performance its pretty stable. I do want to end up getting a better light to like a 300 watt when im able to. The light is a vipraspectre p1000 led grow light.
The thing with autos is it can be somewhat of a guessing game as to their size. I’ve had them top out at under 18" or keep going over 4ft. With lower power lighting, your plants are likely to really stretch to receive more. At only 100w, there is high chance you won’t have ample ppf outside of a 12"x12" area to flower. You also have to consider penetration to lower portions and that honestly won’t push it.
I highly recommend looking around for something that puts out closer to 200w like @Myfriendis410 said, if doing 1 plant. It will be much more worth it come harvest. Bud structure and density, potency, all around better buds. Cannabis is an incredibly light hungry plant. Spider Farmer and Mars Hydro have budget lines that still use components comparable to the higher end units. HLG has a refurb section, as well.
Have you thought about layering the soils instead of mixing? Bottom 2/3 ocean forest, top 1/3 happy frog?
Hmm i gotcha ill keep that in mind i was actually using a 26 watt light initially but took 3 months to get my previous photo to 36 inches tall lol. Ill definitely upgrade when possible
Ive heard of that before only issue is all my soils are all mixed up, so its impossible to disearn them now.
Can’t undo that, roll with it!!! Moving forward you can get more time out of soil with layers. This way you don’t need to supplement nutrients sooner. Save some money overall
Didnt exactly think about that thanks for the useful tip
