I had similar looking critters in my grow last week. And I’m using Ocean Forest and Gaia Green as well. I thought they were aphids but wasn’t 100%.
I used a spray called Dr. Zymes that’s supposed to be all organic and safe for any stage of growth, flowering included.
I have one plant well into flower and a handful of seedlings/early veg stage. I sprayed the leaves, including the buds, both top and underside and misted the soil surface fairly heavily. So far, after about 5 days, I haven’t seen anymore bugs and the plants never missed a beat.
The product is all organic and you dilute it around 30/1 with water, which I used tap that had been sitting to gas off the chlorine, but I didn’t ph anything. Hope that helps.
Just a friendly FYI its B. Amyloliquefaciens also part of Tribus and many other microbe goodies.
They look like fungus gnats to me… when they are first hatched, they run around the soil like that… they don’t fly until they get bigger and sometimes not even then unless you disturb them from the soil. Captn Jacks Dead Bug… spray the plants AND give a good drench to the soil.
Thank you King !
I have used Dr. Zymes as well… I got a free sample from their website! just be very careful to mix it correctly… I would even suggest diluting it a tad more than what they recommend. The first time I tried it, I mixed according to instructions and burned my plants… Next time I diluted more and it worked just fine and was much more gentle on the plants. Just make sure to shake the spray bottle constantly while spraying so the concentrate doesn’t settle to the bottom of the bottle… Same with Captn Jacks
I agree with @Caligurl early stage of gnats don’t forget fly strips to hang around plants when they start to fly they go for them
Yep amyloliquefaciens being the species of Bacillus which is the genus.
What is Bacillus amyloliquefaciens? First off, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens is a species of bacteria . Its genus, Bacillus, also contains the biopesticide Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) and the causal agent of anthrax.
It is also, for my purposes a great Si solubilizer.
Also a good mnemonic for the BT’s (I. or K.)
I. for “In”-soil-medium-water larvae
K. - Caterpillar/moth
Ive used Gnatrol as preventative, 3 times on this grow. I had seen gnats, this definitely worked in my situation, but I inspected bug strip in corner today for first time. It’s covered in dead gnats. Removed it, gettin new ones today !
