Yo yo! New grower here. I have a question regarding calmag. I use it during my feedings when I give my girls their nutes. I’m in the veg state rn. Does calmag need to be used in between feedings while I’m giving the girls just water?
I use tap water, and given advise to use 3ml to a gallon for preventive care, which I have been doing, every watering. My first grow, I would wait for an experienced growers to reply. I pH it to 6.5, before every watering
If using RO, distilled or if your tap is very low TDS, then best advise is to use it every watering. If you’re a feed, water, feed, type you could just use the calmag on your water only days instead of the fert days, frees up some TDS for when you’re ferting, and makes your water days not so dilute. Recommend 3ml/gal if always or 5ml/gal if skipping every other watering.
Thanks zee !
Thx Brotha! I’m gonna switch to calmag w watering instead of nutes
@Hellraiser makes perfect sense as always
How early would you recommend starting calmag? I’m only 5 days out from sprouting. I’m using distilled water, 77ppm, 6.4pH, been told only 30-50 ml of water a day/ every other day at this point. My first time, so I’m trying to feel all these nutrients out. I also have FF Trio, and they’re in FFOF, so I’m not starting nutrients for another 3-4weeks.
With distilled water I’d start the calmag pretty quick, like next watering, if using botanicare calmag I’d go with the maintenance dose of 3ml/gal - will keep calcium and magnesium issues away, if using another brand just go with the minimal amount recommended as the OF does have some calcium and magnesium in it and calmag does have some nitrogen in it so don’t want to give too much of it either.
Thanks for the help!
That’s pretty much what I do and haven’t had any issues related to calcium or magnesium in like for ever
