Upside down harvested plants got too dry, trying to rehydrate!

So I’ve got a 4x4, grew four plants up perfect chop them and hung them upside down just as they were, little bit of trimming of tiny branches but that’s it. I wasn’t able to get to them in time to catch them getting too dry.

I have all AC infinity, 69 controller pro, 8 in evac, there humidifier and heater. But they’ve been sitting at 65 Fahrenheit and 70% humidity for almost 2 weeks, and I’m just not seeing them get any better. They’re at the point where you can put them between your fingers and everything will come off right down to the twig.

But I don’t want to crank up the humidity and heat to where we have a humidity issue.

I’m really curious how long this should take, anybody else’s experiences doing it, this is definitely a case of me screwing up, but it doesn’t look like and can get any moisture into these guys.

Help!

If you need to rehydrate it is time to trim them up and get them into jars or curing bags. You can add a fresh leaf to the jars or bags to raise the humidity. You are looking for it to stabilize inside the bag / jar at 62% humidity. Should keep temps about 68F

If you still have the stumps with some lower branches alive, I would take 4-6 inch lengths of the stems and add to the storage bags. Cut the top of each to expose new surface and wash and dry to ensure there is no mold. This has worked great for me without adding new smells as orange peel would. Happy Holidays all!

Thanks! But I don’t dry with bags, and have no idea what I should be washing. I cut each plant at soil level and hang as one.

Not your problem that I don’t, so I’ll look that up.

Thanks!

The bags or jars are for curing…sounds like you are done drying.

I do bud wash my outdoor buds, but right after I harvest them…not after they are already dry.

Oh now I understand. I’ve never used bags, only jars. I will get the buds plucked and Jarred up.

For some reason I’m unable to get them rehydrated enough to even trim them decently, because the sugar leaves just break right off, and the whole bud, or clump of buds, can be reduced to shake if I’m not careful.

That’ll teach me to pull a couple of all-nighters at work!

If they’re too dry to even deal with and you can’t get them in the jars put them in a tote and rehydrate them with fresh fan leaves.

Once hydrated, you can trim them up and put them in your jars

You know what worked a charm? Normal jars, humidity monitors, and orange peels!
