Haha all good. That’s what I was thinking. I’m in a 5 gallon pot and I been watering only about 2 liters. Which definitely wasn’t enough to get all the way down to the roots. It took well over 19 cups of water yesterday before I even started to see any dripping. So I think I haven’t been giving it enough water and I was only getting the top dress half way down from not watering until dripping.
I do have to top dress today I’m going to do a 70/30
70 percent 284 power bloom.
30 percent 444 all purpose.
And water until I see dripping. I do think this may partially be my fault and I wasn’t getting the nutrients down to the roots. I thought I was doing more harm watering until runoff then not. I see that it’s best to water until run off to make sure all roots are getting what it needs.
So after a few days of top dressing the auto flower I have not seen anymore spots on any of the other leaves. Still just a couple that I’ve posted about. So I’m beginning to wonder if it was in need of a top dress and that was my problem. Or I was causing windburn that was giving me spots that look like they were burning.
First time watering when I top dressed she took 19 cups of water/ a little over a gallon but got back about 3 red solo cups full.
I had to go away for two days so she kinda went a day without water but once I got back she ended up taking 2 liters of water again. And I’m not seeing any signs that she’s been hating it.
Watered again yesterday and she took another 2 liters. I believe I’m going to be at 1-2 liters a day until harvest now.
The Ak47 is getting some yellow leaves. Could be from going hard with the foop. Giving the full recommended amount and she doesn’t seem to be liking it but 90% of her is green but bare. She’s damn near drank the whole gallon out of the self watering base. By the 21st she’ll be ready for week 4. Thinking about running a flush through the top and allowing her to drink regular water for a week ? Or continue on with the feedings ??
In your pic from last week the yellow tips and edges on the leaves look like a lack of K(potassium) which would indicate that they are hungry and need to be dressed. The spots combined with the twisted leaves look like Ca(calcium) deficiency which is just as often from low ph in the media as lack of Ca. The PH of your media is also correlated to moisture content. Now that your keeping the coco moist things should start coming in line.
In your new pics I believe that would be a more advanced K deficiency. I would top water to a good runoff and test PH and EC. Then go from there.
Okay sounds good, the yellowing of the plant is the ak47 now. That’s being bottom fed with goop nutrients. Gonna top water in about 10 mins and get some readings. She due for week 4 feed in 2 days anyway so I’ll go ahead and give her a break until then and give her some water only. Until it’s time to out week 4 in ?
If anything she probably needs stronger solution in your bases. I have never used them but she looks hungry, not burnt. What you are seeing is the plant cannibalizing it’s leaves for the nutrients that it can’t get from the medium.
On fools page it says to oh to 6.4 when growing in coco and to feed every other feeding. So I’m gonna skip week 4 and just give plain water. Then go back to it week 5. Skip 6 and so on. Says supplement additional cal / mag (20% of manufacturer’s recommended dose). Any idea on who I should go with for the cal mag next go around ? Because I’m already so far in and if I have it shipped it won’t be here for awhile.
I usually just go with whatever the manufacturer of your nutes recommends or sells. Sometimes different nutrient lines won’t get along and you will have problems.
3000 uS is pretty high. I would never have guessed the self watering bases would do that. BTW EC,PPM, and TDS all measure the same thing. They are just different ways of expressing it. You can pick one and stick with it to avoid confusion.
Did you get her all flushed out? At 3000 uS I wouldn’t add anything until you get some of that flushed out. Or were you going to use it on the Strawberry Cough? So far the GH line has been my favorite of the synthetics I’ve tried. You can also foliar feed with it.
I’m going to get another reading today just to be sure everything is back in range that it needs to be in. Once i see that it’s within the range it needs to be I’m going to be starting back up on the nutrients and adding in the calmag. Since I took the nutrients from it she started to yellow even more
Updated numbers from today, we got her dropped down. I know PPM and EC are relatively the same but I’m able to get both numbers from one pen so figured I’ll throw up both numbers up there. We looking like we can go ahead and get her back to some nutes by 7 tonight ?
You can probably feed now. You can also top water with your nutes before putting them back on the bases. That will get fresh balanced nutes into the medium. Even if they do droop a little from to much water they will perk back up witin a few hours.
Put the nutrients back into the bottom of the base. Foops page said to ph it to 6.4 growing in coco. They said add 20% of manufactures recommended amount of calmag. It said add 1 teaspoon per gallon. Believe 20% of 1 teaspoon is roughly 1ml. Beings it went into 1 gallon of solution… hopefully this is what she needed and she bounces back.
When I go to water the auto flower should I add 1ml of calmag to the water I’m giving it or do you think Gaia green should have enough in it to not have to worry about it ?
After about a week into adding in cal-mag I started to see a difference but then she started to go back to her color. So I went to top feeding in. And after about 4 days she started to turn green again (ak47)
Those buds look great for 6 weeks. in the next week or so you will see them start fattening up and getting dense. Sorry it took a while to get back to ya. I forgot to set the thread to watch.
No problem ! I’m going into the 7th week come the 12th for the strawberry cough auto. She showing signs of needing another top dress but can’t decided if I should give her another feeding or if I should go ahead and just let her work herself out. When I allow 20% run off the water is starting to become clear and she’s getting spots like she’s hungry again. Same spots from last time when she was close to a feeding. The site I got my seeds from say 55-65 days from initiating flower and they’ll be ready to harvest. I top dressed on August 15th. The 12th would be one month from top dress. I’ll be at 49 days on the 12th.
