@Growinglove420 there are at least two ways to do just about everything.
I think if your gonna grow autos you have to make a decision and either let them sprout in their “forever” pot or start them in smaller pots and transplant into the larger one.
I started mine in jiffy pots and then transplanted into a 3 gallon cloth pot. Next time, I’m going straight into the big pot.
I used super thrive in my water after transplanting and I didn’t see any transplant shock. I did handle the transplant process very gingerly though so as not to disturb the plant at all.
I didn’t know I was growing Autos, I started all of my seeds in the forever pot, I literally soaked them in a drop of peroxide water while I was getting all the perlite mixed in and filled up my 4 gallon pots, stuck the seeds right in, pointier side up(I think) and hoped for the best, out of 16 seeds, 3 ended up being Autos (which have been sitting in my dark bathroom until Wed when I harvest and hang. 3 seeds were male, so those got cut down and composted last week. This was my first grow from seeds.
When I started my Autos , I planted them with the intention to transplant, and against All suggestion Not to.
We all learn in different ways and by Mistake sometimes just what works Best for us personally.
When I transplanted , All of my Autos went into some type of shock for a bit then slowly came back, its all about TLC.!!
Oh hell , on route to transplant 4 of my Autos went through a horrific Bicycle accident, dumped em all over the place, one died,… and one made it to the Hall of Fame !!
@FyshhTrap I feel alot better after reading your story! I’m glad I’m not the only one with an experience like that in transplanting. Surprisingly, the little lady that was damaged has come back to life, slowly but surely and yes, with plenty of TLC. I decided to experiment with music (binaural, classical) in this grow as well, it could be possible that it helped, who knows… It certainly hasn’t hurt them. The other 2 are doing great and growing tons each day. Patience is definitely key still though.
Thank you, means alot to hear you say that. I got a tent and another 600 watt meizhi so we’ll see how the next grow goes. Ordered the ilgm automixpack, hopefully will be here in a couple days. Oh and some nutrients called Tigers Blood, ever heard of it?
Yes, tigers bloom I meant. I didn’t get the trio but I will. I agree about the meizhi lights, I am 100% satisfied with them so far. Got a great deal on ebay for the second light. yayay and happy growing
Yes! We can’t wait to enjoy it. She’s smelling soooooo amazinggg and very oily already. I think she’s about 30 days out according to when I planted. CANNOT WAIT!! what about curing?? Any suggested methods?
There are several techniques used that you can search for on the site. Robert also has some articles on it.
I hang mine intact(untrimmed) in a dark cool space until the large fan leaves easily pull off. Then I trim everything and put them in a paper bag until they feel right to me.
Once I feel they are dry enough to not worry about mold, I place the buds in mason jars. For the first week I “burp” each jar twice a day. Burping is just removing the lid and letting the moisture out while allowing fresh air in.
Usually by the second week I only burp once a day. The following week, every other day. By the third week the jars can go a couple days without being opened. After a month, you should be good for storage.
To me, 45-60 days makes for a good cure. Bear in mind that this is just the way I do it. Timing isn’t really set because of varying moisture levels. Some may take more or less time.
You can sample as you go and you’ll be able to see what I mean about the longer cure time. As you harvest more, the process will get easier and more comfortable for you. Just make sure the buds are dry before you start sampling.
Hi, sorry to jump in on this post but I flushed my girls yesertday to start the 10 day before harvest, sorry don’t know the term but I am wondering do I give them anymore water for the next 10 days?
@doodlebug yes water them like you would on your normal schedule just make sure you don’t overwater since you just flushed after the 10 days just water normal
