Tutorial badly needed

Hello all,

I have almost no knowledge about growing, but would like to begin. I have ordered 240cmx240cmx200cm tent, 2 400w lamps, filters and all other stuff, but I will need some step by step tutorial on how to begin .
Do you maybe know of some good online tutorial I could follow ?

Thanks for your patience and help!

Just like @Tr33 said. The online guides and Roberts Grow Bible are great places to start. I read through all of those first.

Also this forum is a great resources for questions as you go along. No question too small or dumb. Just post on here and you’ll be given some solid advice.

@newbie1. Follow the link, you can see the place to get your free grow bible. There are many guides there to get you started as well. The folks in this chat are so cool, and they will fill in all your questions. Welcome, and I can’t wait to see what you can grow!

I have tried 5 times to receive it , but nothing came in my email. While at it, can you please explain me these terms: non feminized, female, Autoflowering Seeds, Regular Seeds. Which one do I need ?
As explained in the first post, I will grow indoor , and would like to harvest somewhere around 45-50 days if possible, so I can have at least 6 harvests per year.
I will try not to ask dumb questions

I have tried 10 times already the Bible is not in my inbox.

thanks

Might want to remove the email. Personal info like that is not allowed to be posted in the forum.

non feminized — Not sure, but feminized is a female plant, which is what you want to grow…

Auto flowering seeds — this is a plant that has an internal clock, and flowers without any change to the light schedule. Usually has a shorter grow period than photo plants…

regular seeds — photo period plants, meaning they need a change (shorter) light cycle to trigger the flowering phase, these can be male or female, and are usually cheaper, because if you get males most people destroy them soon as they show their sex…

As a beginner, I would go with auto flowering. That being said, most autos take 70+ days to finish. My last batch took about 80-95 days… Never buy regular seeds, or not until you get some experience or are considering breeding…

Didn’t know about the email not allowed , sorry .

I don’t know why you are having trouble with the download link. If you have an alternate email address you may want to give that one a try. There are still very many great guides at the link, or just look up in the right hand corner of your screen and click on the GUIDES link. For my first plant I am growing an autoflowering dwarf. They are engineered female. My seed was supposed to be fast from seed to harvest, but closing in on 45 days, and no actual flowering has even taken place yet.

Another newbie here😊 I also had trouble downloading the Bible and think it was the yahoo address from what others said. I paid 99 cents and downloaded to my kindle. I heard you can download it free from google play. Hope this helps you.
Yep. Read it and the guides. My Partner in Crime has been growing exotic plants for years but this has been our best outdoor grow to date. I listen to her and add advice from here so I may try solo on Afghan next year. Everyone here is wonderful with us newbies :heart:

The community is great, I have opened this topic, and as you can see advices are coming from all over  Thanks again guys.
I have tried downloading it to 3 different gmail addresses, but will try now from Google play.
@Ron330 : so, I you think I definitely need to start with auto flowering ? Isn’t there any that doesn’t take 70+ days to grow ?

@newbie1 that is a personal choice only you can make. I am only on my second grow. I chose auto flowering just to take some of the pressure off of me. All I had to worry about was feeding them and keeping the temps in the grow area manageable.

Photo period Feminized seeds are not so different. But you have to switch the light schedule to induce flowering. These will probably give you a bigger yield, but like anything, bigger takes longer. I will have to wait for someone else to chime in on time frames for a harvest. @Hogmaster @Countryboyjvd1971 @Nug-bug might have some insight to share (I know nothing compared to them)

I agree with @Ron330 - autoflowering seeds will probably be your best bet to start out with.

I’m on my first grow but went straight for feminized seeds (I don’t recommend regular seeds- if there are males mixed in with females they can pollinate your females and ruin your yields + seeds).

Feminized seeds (also called called photo plants around the site) aren’t much harder. They will need a longer vegetation time and will take longer to flower, but in general they will yield more weight.

@newbie1 If you are bored, you could look at my current grow journal, I posted most of what I did at the start to get the seeds going. It is really a lot easier than you think, and this forum has been a huge help if any problems do happen…

Ok, lets say I will try autoflowering the 1st time ( to grow easier and faster ) @Nug-bug I understand that it can happen that they do not flower much more than they suppose to, but in general they should grow faster than feminized, right?
So, which seeds should I pick ? Which ones do you know will give most yield in your opinion ?

Most yield hands down photo periods. Now for speed of course autos,i was just pointing out in my last post, that you never know how long it CAN take.

my 1st grow, i planted 10 autos. 20 hour light

all fems, all flowered on thier own

however, not necessarily on the time schedule that may be stated as each grow is different with way too many variables to compare

on 1 hand, i am glad i chose autos for my first grow, as there seems to be a lot of pressure, until a couple weeks in when it dawns on you that you got the basics. And things don’t exactly happen at breakneck speed in growing plants from seed (except, the stretch), but not having to worry if you screwed up by flowering too early or too late is nice

on the other hand, again, when you realize that you have the basics, photos become a much better option, because you can screw up a dozen times in veg and the plant will still likely make it to flower, if you get your act together by the flip. autos, you screw up, your yield is threatened. every single time you do something that even might be wrong, the thought of reduced yield instantly crosses your mind, and not in a good way.

I havent completed my grow yet and have not grown photos, so i dont really know. i just see downsides i did not foresee with choosing autos as a first grow. i am DEFINITELY not unhappy, but i might have travelled a different road. not matter what, remember, it is a weed and it wants to live. add the fact that we have been growing stuff for ages as a species, and there was less to fear than my imagination provided

also, if you havent explored it, consider looking into coco coir as a medium. i did a lot of research, and for my goals and lifestyle, it had significant benefits. It has not disappointed so far, and as long as a little bit of science doesn’t scare you, it might be worth investigating

good luck!

@mulch thanks for your detailed explanation . I managed to download the Bible on Google play, and I will research it, and hopefully understand all there is to understand.
I am sure I will have like dozens of questions when I start  but as this is a great and helpful community, I am convinced it will all be fine.
I saw that people often speak about the White widow, what do you think about that one?
At this point I could use some advices on which one to plant ?
