Hello fellow growers. New to this topic. Usually grow outside with my card, but now that it is rec. legal in Michigan I thought I would try growing inside.
I set up a room in the basement with three 3 x 3 grow rooms.
or at least it will when I am done. I have two done. Here are some shots of the practice run.
Looks good so far, although clear containers aren’t the best.
just getting ready to try my first time inside. 30 years out side with sative hope mine come ouy as good as your first try. good job enjoy!!!
Nice grow. With high powered lights you might feel 3x3 is tight for 2 plants. Bing the burple down to 18 inches.
I know. It was what I had. They were ready for transplant before I was ready for them.
They were ready for transplant before I was, so i just went with what I had.
@outdoorsforlife,
Nice build.!!!
and… great looking first indoor grow.!!
i built my own stealth box and love it, seems way better then any tent.! mwah hah hah.! LOL
quick questions…
why did u go with 3x3 areas.?
do u plan on upgrading to 600w HID.?
can u access the back for training and trimming.?
Looking good @outdoorsforlife Michigan here too. Keep up the awesome growing.
@SlowOldGuy
To answer, the area I used to the grow room was 10 feet and I want to stagger my grows.
as to the lights I am using 450watt led lights. so far they are working fine in the 3x3 rooms, and trying to keep the power bill down.
as for access for training and trimming I went a different route.
It was late when I started this so I didn’t get a chance to show the start of the second grow.
I had more time to prepare to this grow, and learned a few things from the practice run that is turning out pretty good.
I still have to reinforce the lattice to keep it from sagging.
Day 1
Day 2
I started my seeds in frozen juice containers with the bottom cut off and covered with landscape fabric.
Once the roots started poking out of the fabric I simply cut the container in two pieces.
Giving me a nice seedling plug.
After that I cut a hole in the bottom of a an extra container and stuck in down in a bucket of dirt that was at the same room temp as the plant. When removed its the same size as the seedling plug.
Add some water.
And just drop in the hole.
Has to be the easiest transplant I have done yet, and hopefully I was able to reduce or eliminate any transplant shock. Soil in the buckets is the same as what I started the seeds in.
With the transplant done all that was left was to role them in to the room.
I started the first grow with the pots sitting on a pallet and the lattice was hung on hooks in the wall, but it proved to be to hard to trim and train. So I threw together a quick cart to access all sides. I plan to replace it with one that looks like grow 2 that way they can be used in any room.
@highcountrygal, @SmoknGranny granny, @MBgrower
@WickedAle. There is only one light. It is a two stage led. It’s a Viparspectra 450 watt. Two stage. It has a veg and a bloom setting.
You may find your VS450 to be underpowered for 5 plants, but you already popped the seeds. Wish you good harvest.
Looking good so far I like your rolling plant stand
@SmoknGranny. Thanks.
@WickedAle
I am running a vs 450 in the first grow and they seem to be doing fine. Still waiting for final results. If necessary I will upgrade to a vs600 after first harvest. And just daisy chain the two 450 together.
Looks great can’t wait to follow along!
