Well I did it, I went and got a new xl ac infinity auto water bottom feed 10 gallon fabric pot and plopped 9 gallons of Happy Frog dirt in it. Then I sprouted a Humboldt ‘Donutz’ photo seed and there she sits in all her glory! All joking aside, she is massive already. she’s easily twice the size of the other 6 seeds of different varieties I started at the same time, and her leaves are just plain phat. This should be an interesting grow for me at least. I’m a fairly new canna grower and total nube as far as dirt and photos goes. This appears to going to be a fairly straight forward process with the dirt compared to the RDWC I’ve been growing in, but we’ll see. things aren’t always as simple as they appear to be at first. At any rate wish me luck and stand by for a whole plethora of dumbassed questions. I apologize and thank you all ahead of time. Sorry and Thanx
Cool, I grow hydroponic and I don’t think I’ll go back to soil. Hydro is much easier for my skill level. I would like to follow your grow if you don’t mind.
Sure thing, but be sure to bail out before I run this thing off a cliff lol.
Actually I’m starting a new hydro grow too. It’ll be in another thread.
Tag me on your hydro grow please I have ebb and flow system what is yours?
I’m running a top feed RDWC sterile system with the advanced GH flora grow nutes.
Not sure if I’m doing this right but here goes.
Triploid update. Well it would appear that genetics really does make a big difference because this Donutz from Humboldt is becoming a monster. I just started LST on her and she is responding great!
Heres pix.
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the rule of thumb that states that when your limbs are long enough to reach the edge of the pot the roots will reach the bottom of the pot for wick watering is absolutely correct even for the XL pots which are 16" (I believe) wide but only 12" tall. she started drinking from the bottom the same day her leaves reached the edge.(approximately of course)
