Trump signs order reclassifying marijuana as less dangerous

That was a good faith signing, FDA needs to do the actual paperwork, I do not know if this is a good thing or not, my gut feeling it is not (IMHO) any time Goverment gets involved the joe citizen gets it up the wazoo.

My thinking is after 80 years of telling us that cannabis is dangerous they will now tell us what we all knew, and that is cannabis is a medicine. I have read articles that Monsanto would like to be the ā€œmedicineā€growers nationally , we get to smoke some Round Up.

This may help people on high thc cancer treatments as it might be eligible for rx coverage. It will also allow more research into the medicinal properties of cannabis nationally. We will see, I know alcohol sales are at historic lows and the alcohol sellers are flooding social media with scrommitting articles trying to fend off people switching to weed. But for now nothing really changes. Wait and see. I also think Kennedy is on board with re classifying shrooms off of schedule 1, lots of evidence they have medicinal value.

Yes been reading a lot on this and shrooms, love to hear Kennedy talk he is a no holds barred with tact, I just finished reading his book, to bad he is not younger to stay where he is for a long time to come. Not getting into politics, just keeping up with our messed up country.

I hope somebody in the UK Govt. is aware of this as its still the ā€˜bad old days’ here…if you shoot black tar smack or use crack, then you are a victim.
But if you smoke some pot, you are a criminal and dealt with accordingly. Yikes !

About the same, why all cops and EMS carry Narcan to get them out of a OD to carry on and do it again… It is a cycle that is very seldom broken, I give the greatest kudos to the ones that where able to break the habit and cycle to carry on and get clean.

Whenever the government gets involved with things we enjoy it’s never to improve our experience. I initially thought the legalization would be a good thing and would keep people from buying off the street but unfortunately it was all about making money. I haven’t bought weed in over 20yrs but from what I’ve seen the legal stuff is expensive

The upside is more studies might show it really helps with pain, anxiety, or whatever, which could make judges, cops, or state laws a bit more relaxed about small setups in the future.

Would likely increase tax for people who go to dispensaries.

The downside is nothing protects home growing right now. Its still against federal law, basically making a controlled drug without permission. Things could even tighten up as everything moves toward prescriptions and big drug companies get involved, leaving regular growers out in the cold.

Consider the timing of this…

that spending bill signed last month changed the rules on hemp. It now counts total THC, including THCA, and says seeds that can grow strong plants dont count as legal hemp anymore. Theres a one-year grace period, so the tough shipping limits could kick in late 2026. After that, getting good seeds from out of state or overseas gets a lot harder.

Right now the power still rests with the state that you reside and I don’t think this will have a direct impact on us, yet. Long term though? Who knows.

I wish I woulda known that meth made me a victim after I smoked:tada::fuel_pump::sloth:.

I’d be in line at the Crimes Victims Advocacy Center getting my check for the abuse the meth did to my body n brain after the injections.

Yeah, there are Alot of ppl happy that I only smoke weed now.

Ps. I could have never quit meth if I didn’t have cannabis to quite the chatter

If big pharma gets involved with it the home grower will be public enemy #1

I think It’ll be a slow squeeze on businesses making it harder for us to do what we want to do. Enemy? Possible, producing prescription meds at home without a license? Doesn’t sound good, more crack downs protecting corporate markets. I think most the power will still remain with the state. Anything can happen though. I guess it depends on where the profits get shifted. Could easily sway states with a big enough figure.

Abbot was actually okay with me
It’s Dan Patrick’s…blank ASS that was the issue.
Whether this helps us in the Lone Star, ???
Id love to see medical permission to cultivate.
But it will not happen here .
I’m watching this closely.
But very pessimistic still yet.

There’s nothing I see inherently bad about this right now. Unfortunately, I hate pretty much everything about the government so I would just assume they go bury their heads in the sand like they do on everything else that’s inconvenient for them.

I think if their current intention was to do something more (good or bad) they would have just done it now. But I definitely wouldn’t underestimate the greed of big pharma or future politicians.

I think the term medicinal is improperly used in the case of an arguement for cannabis. Medicine can include opiods, or synthetics.. so grandma’s medicine could be on any schedule. It boils down to Rights and Freedoms, does the government have the right to tell you what to breathe? They clearly don’t care about people smoking cigarettes, yet the evidence that they are deadly and do nothing positive for the user is overwhelming. As long as the government can make revenue off people dying, they dont care, another body will replace it. When you can grow your own dope, the government can’t make money off it… they don’t like that at all. To prove it, take a look at Canada’s legalization… its legal yet to control how much you can take from the government’s bank account they made something legal, unless you grow more than 4. I ask you, how can you be arrested for having more of something that’s legal? That’s just plain bullshit! And points to government control and they just want their money. They don’t care if you die to get it.
