Trouble shooting issues

I’m a new grower. I use a 2×4 grow tent. Use 7 gallon pots. Use fox farms happy frog soil. Use dyna gro nutrients. Pro tekt, foliage pro, mag pro and bloom. Use the recommended amounts. I use to feed everytime I watered. Never checked the ph. Plants turned out okay. This time use all the same things but only feed every other watering. Also keeping ph around 6.2-6.3. I’m in week 5 of flowering. I have little brown spots on some leaves, also turning yellowish. Can anybody help me?

Is this runoff pH, or the pH of your feeds.

Are you also monitoring runoff PPM?

Pictures of the plant/problem would be very helpful.

Ph in feeds

What is your runoff pH and PPM? I expect they will differ from that going in. It is typical at this stage that your pH is low and your PPM is high.

I don’t check runoff. I just started to check ph this time. My other plant seems fine

Your plant doesn’t look all that bad.

pH and PPM are likely issues, particularly pH, as it tends to drift lower as a grow progresses when feeding synthetic nutrients. It hard to determine proper corrective actions without understanding what your runoff numbers are.

Would you suggest torun high end of ph. My other plant looks fine. Could it be the strain? I never checked the ph till this grow. And I’m using didtilled water.

Distilled has no pH, but synthetic nutes are on the acidic side. What happens is nutrient salts solidify in your soil and it creates low pH problems when you get into flowering. Mid-flower pH problems are common with some synthetic nutrient products.

The range for soil is 6.3 to 6.8.

I watered today. Checked runoff. It says 4.4. This disgusted me. I’ m just doing this as a hoby. I’m ready to stop trying. Thought I had this down but I guess not. Don’t know what soil to use. Don’t know what nutrients to use. I thought I could grow good dooing a,b,c,d and e and it would come out good. Thought I have a good light. Mars hydro sp3000 light.

I can’t really speak for anyone else but I can tell you that I started this hobby with no previous experience and made ALL of the typical mistakes that new growers make. I learned from the kind and generous growers on this forum.

You are way ahead where I started… at least you started with a decent light. I ended up replacing $1K worth of worthless lights midway through my first grow.

Be patient and follow the excellent advice that these great growers offer. Keep at it and before you know it, you will be growing the best buds that you ever smoked. :man_mage:

It’s hard for me to continue. This is my 5th grow. First 4 I never checked the ph of my distilled water with or without nutrients. The plants did okay. But never outstanding. I keep humidity and temps in range. I run a dehumidifier to keep humidity in range. Run a 4 inch exhast fan. Run 2 6 inch fans for circulation in tent. I use an eye dropper that has soild stops so my nutrient amout is consistent. Use fox farm happy frogg soil and dyna gro nutrients. I keep my ph going in at 6.4-6.5. Don’t know what esle to do. I water every 3 days, about 5 quarts at a time. Please help if you can.

Can anybody tell me how to post to get help? I just think there is a way to do this that I’m missing.
