TOPPING PLANTS thru Light Manipulation- NO CUTTING!

That’s good point I just saw something about these custom willow tree growers that stress the plant into growing into the exact shape of furniture - it’s amazing.
However, I am still interested to see if a bushier plant can be created by consistently obstaining the plant from “direct” overhead light. Any way you want to slice it- Manipulation of the Potting arrangement or lighting arrangement, regardless of what may be less “work”, may have more of an effect on ‘horizontal’ growth and shape than I first realized.
Right now my side branches are as thick or thicker than the main stem, but somehow the plant has maintained a perfect center of gravity. Note that I still consider myself very much a newbie to this science, so I am learning A LOT from experimenting, and from these forums as well. I digress- will add another pic soon

Day 45-50 updates…my little 3 headed monster looks like it was topped, but no I didn’t and even though it may look a little crooked, it’s center of gravity is stable and it’s healthy as an ox.

Day 65-68 Updates

Plant is coming along Fair to Good. Unfortunately I ran into nutrient overdose problem & it now has nitrogen toxicity. Probably from too much bat guano mixed into the soil combined with the type of miracle grow soil I used. All my leaves have been showing the frayed, curled and burnt tips for a couple weeks now, & still popping up in the newer leaves. I worked/mulched a decent amount of dead & dying leaves into the top 2-3" of soil about a week ago and haven’t seen much improvement. My buds however are still looking good and the plant looks somewhat strong so I’m hoping the quality of the buds does not get ruined. This is the 1st time I’ve encountered this problem so any advice or info is much welcomed!

Nice give us a final dry weight on harvest bro
That’s the best part and why we all do what we do lol

Looks amazing! :+1:

Looking great there @MedMan1878 No worries, she’ll be fine you are so close to harvest you will be fine!

Question for you guys & everyone else who would like to chime in…@Majiktoker @Countryboyjvd1971 @bob31 @Hogmaster

I have 3 questions Regarding flushing:

  1. Say my plant is in a 5 gallon pot, would 5x3= 15 gallons of water be around the right amount of water to use?
  2. And if so, should I go ahead and maybe add a quarter or half dose of bloom nutrients in the last gallon or 2 of water I use to flush? Or should I refrain from using any nutrients whatsoever?
  3. Also, I am about 7-14 days away from harvest- is this the correct time frame for final flushing?

Scrolled by so thought id chime in, thats one beautiful looking plant you got there!
In answer to your Q’s, 15 gals is the correct amount for a full flush with ph corrected water, if you wanted to add some nutes probably best off doing it in the last gal, just a light feed should do fine.
Flushing depends on what you’ve fed/how much you’ve fed throughout the grow. If you overfeed throughout the grow, a final flush period is needed. If you have been feeding minimal and have very little salt build up in the soil, then minimal to no flush is needed. Im sure others will chime in with better knowledge, but imo 1 week flush should be more than enough, especially if your giving it a full 15gal flush now. all just my two cents, happy growing brother :v:

@MedMan1878 And the answer is yes 15 gallons as for your bloom I would say absolutely ! At what amount did you use of bloom before ? If you would be comfortable I would split the stems and it’s incredible the difference in the amount of sugar develops but your plants look awesome almost there

I’m in agreement with @BondPacker & @Hogmaster yes 15 gal is correct amount
If your flushing before harvest why add nutrients since this is why your flushing in the first place ? I don’t personally flush myself I stop feeding them two weeks prior to harvest Also I have just split my stem on my next lady to get chopped down and can see a visual difference from the two others I ha n tent so I’ll say that’s a good idea also :+1::cowboy_hat_face::v:CB if your interested in splitting stem there is a thread on how to do it floating around

I’d say go for it @BondPacker I did one of 3 I still have going and will do other 2 as well there’s no downside as long as you don’t do it early
I have seen a difference in tricombes in a good way lol I only did it 2 days ago
I’ll harvest tomorrow
Let others go a little longer and split them as well

I agree, not much harm can come to a plant scheduled for harvesting in a few days…but thick stems are a challenge, go carefully.

You should have a nice harvest of mmj, nice grow!
