Topping at different nodes?

Is there an difference when topping at the 4th , 5th and 6th node ? I have been topping and doing lst.

I can’t thank everyone enough for the wisdom and knowledge shared on this site. It is really helping me and my anxiety about growing the right way plus it saves our pockets.

How many side branches you wind up with is main diff. Top at 4th node (minimum) is just a generally agreed on thing. For autos, it still gives them time to recover when you top pretty early. With photos, you can top whenever and even top the tops if you want to since it will veg as long as schedule is more light than dark time.

Sweet. I didn’t do any training on my first grow but these are turning out nice. Thanks

That is a nice cluster of tops. Similar structure as this White Widow auto. Bud on the left is around 10" long.

I let some bud sites fill the middle in. They are smaller than the tops but still nice nugs.

This CBD Cream and Cheese was topped, I don’t recall what node…5th I think. Then bent the main stem over to reduce overall height. Then I trained the main colas out and around the outside to allow the inner buds light to get bigger all while trying to keep the canopy even and level as possible. All the outside ones are now 10-11” and fattening. The smaller ones inside are getting good and beefy now as well. First time Ive tried this topping and lst. Works pretty well I guess. We’ll see. Harvest should be in the next 2-3 weeks.s
