Topped her today, now what?

They loose a lot of size and weight when drying out. Nice training

Yep. It had alot of quality buds, very few large buds. But my other plant offset that for larger buds

I’m going to start tying her down tomorrow. I want to grab some landscaping stakes first

Unless those pictures are deceiving there is nothing to tie down yet. If I was there and we were friends I would say. Slow your role dude give her some time to grow. Patience is key through the whole grow.

So I shouldn’t just hold down the 4 big leaves up top to open it up a bit more? I was just going to tuck them under the landscape hook things. I’m looking for all the advice I can get. I appreciate it!

All you have now is fans. Once the top heals and she starts growing again, you will see the future flowering branches and those are what you tie down.
Here is a pic of a plant prolly around 6 weeks or so.

and within a few weeks, she is big and bushy again.
This was Godfather OG from ILGM and was training for 6 missiles. She grew to within 10-1/2" of my light in a 72" tall tent.

I agree with what @DRsDank said. Let her grow a bit and then train down the branches, not leaves. Here’s a pic of my training I did on my plants when they were just a little bigger than yours and end result as they are today.

Once you spread the branches out when they are big enough you can manipulate them outwards.

Its the branches you want to tie down, not the fan leaves. You will need them to grow more before they need to be tied down. You already allowed alot more light in by topping it so now you wait.

Perfect!

At this stage you can almost see and hear them grow.

Looking good. I follow the advice that “no new toppings until at least 4 new nodes or sets of branches have grown”. I top mine alot, but follow that advice.

If you wanna entertain yourself looking at the plants, when they’re young like that every so often ill let them get a little dehydrated, like an extra day or so without water (soil). When they get droopy and bend over, feed them, then about 15-20 minutes later is very interesting and fun to watch and a roll a dooby too :eyes:

A little dehydration every so often is good for them too :metal:
