Too late to top? 9 nodes

Is it too late to top once it is past the 6th node? Had to watch a friends house for 5 days and they blew up… at 9 or 10 nodes right now, just trimmed off the 3 lowest node branches. Thanks!!!

If its a photo you can because you can veg them longer even though it really isnt recomended

If a photo no issues. If so I personally would top her back to 5 or 6 and plant that top for a clone.

Toped that auto on the right at about 6-8 i didn’t really count  it needed done so i did it.

It’s still hanging but there is atleast 7oz if not 8oz of nice thick sticky nugs
It really depends, if a auto is real vigorous i treat it like a photo. Very rarely do I get an auto that is terribly effected by stress and I can usually tell early after plucky a leaf or two and if it slows down i may leave it alone. But most often i stipp some leafs, they dont miss a beat, then it’s heavy defoliation always, topping and super cropping as needed just about at any stage …

Thankfully theyre photo, so i have as long as needed! I did this on my last batch but caught it at 8 nodes, its been a year and i just forgot till i went back and looked at all my old posts. They turned out great - 22 dry oz from 4 plants - for my first attempt i was pretty pleased! Of course none of that would have been possible without the site and people willing to help like you guys :grinning:

Great lookong ladies btw, i love the shorter one!!

How’d you keep those so short??? I had a near 6 footer last year in an 8 foot tent, lots of strings pulling it down. Had to take out the filter and re-hang the lights waaay too close to the top. Filled the tent lol.

That one is genetics, it’s a lemon haze x a skunky lowrider #2 x male auto. Simply called “lemon auto”.
But thats about typical height i guess for it although this one was a prime example i just got lucky with the bud rockets i think
