So I’m new to hydro, couple runs of extremely successful tomatoes and peppers etc. to dip my toes in no real issues to note. Finally decided let’s give cannabis a shot, super excited!!
About a week and a half old, over night it developed brown spots and got worse over the course of the next 12 hours. I’m assuming to heavy on the nutrients?
Running 4, 5gallon dwc buckets
Active Aqua 45L/min pump
White widow fem
Mars hydro tsw 2000 300w light
At 18" 80%
18/6 on/off
General hydroponics flora grow,micro,bloom
Using about 75% of what was recommended 4ml/gallon of each +armor si
Ph 5.8 TDs 1000
Basement staying about 55% humidity
And slightly cooler then I would like at 67-68°f
Not sure what other information might be helpful.
Am I lacking something specific or just TOO much?
New house was going to use my 4x4 grow tent so I could keep control over temp and humidity easier and found out ceiling is about 4" too short.
Was very unhappy and was hoping it would stay 70° like the rest of my house. planning on getting a small heater for that section of the basement and eventually putting up a wall so I’ll have a little 10x10 grow room.
morning @Zostrix …first you say 1000ppm nutrient…that is awful high for this stage …what was your base water reading before you added your nutrients…and I don’t see you list any root inoculant like Hydroguard or Southern AG and you need it in hydro…what do your roots look like…either root rot or high nutrients is my diagnosis at this moment with what info I have…
As much as I would love RO a little costly on top of our move.
The tap water I started with was reading 140-150ppm (a lot nicer than our last place like 450 out of the tap)
Using Hannah instruments HI9813-6
The little roots that have popped through the net pots look healthy, nice white color.
I have a small bottle of GH “rapidstart” should I continue to use that and any recommendations to concentration?
Last night while making this post I changed the solution for all 4 plants. Went at 50% 2.5ml/gallon of the GH 3 part and nothing extra. 600ppm
PH 5.8-6
ok means you have roughly 850ppm of real nutrients and that is still high … here is my chart for comparison to what you are feeding…I don’t see a need for rapid start in my grows…you should consider getting some hydroguard or some kind of root inoculant for your grow…
