Some will let the water sit for 24 hrs to let chlorine off gas :+1::+1:

No chlorine added to the sodium for a softener. It’s not table salt NaCl. Sodium buildup not great for plants, but can be managed with regular flushing with yucca.

Chemical salts - Not the same

Ugh this just keeps getting more confusing….

So what… keep using distilled? Bottle spring water? Rain water? Well water???

So many decisions…

All good options. Whatever is cheaper or free. Have you checked pH and EC of the rainwater and well water to see if a viable option? You could get a water distiller cheap and make distilled 24 hrs in advance.

I was told that distilled was not of any nutritional value. Guess that was misinformation :joy: :victory_hand::love_you_gesture::oncoming_fist:

I try to catch the rainwater when it rains, and fill my containers. Prefer to use it, and the plants love it.

Rainwater is beneficial for plants because it is 100% soft water, free of salts and chemicals that can harm them. Additionally, it is slightly acidic, which helps improve nutrient availability in the soil, and contains nitrates that are essential for plant growth.***

I use a boogie blue filter on my outdoor irrigation system with tap water.

I refill water jugs with RO water at my grocery store for $0.39 a gallon. Maybe thats an option for you?

A guy I knew in the 1990’s - who grew hydro- always insisted on using the filtered water from the water store for his ladies and he grew some dank :evergreen_tree:
