The Perfect Press💧

What’s up Cannafam,

I’ve recently have gotten into pressing rosin, and am thoroughly enjoying it. However I’ve noticed there is a pretty big learning curve. Lots of reading and YouTube videos. Yeah, I get the gist of it. It would be nice to see, with details, how other farmers here are squishing their products.

So I thought it might be cool to have a collective place here on ILGM where we can share our methods. Like bud porn, but with extra steps. LOL

I think it would be cool if we could list a few things in the contributions that (hopefully) end up here. A ticket if you will.

Rosin Press:
Material? flower, hash, fresh, cured, age, etc:
Micron Bag:
Pressure if applicable:
Temps:
Time:
Terps:
Weight/Return:

Preferably with a starting material picture, and a squish pic. Good or bad! I think all results would build a portfolio on what to do, and what not to do. Maybe collectively some of us can learn a thing or 2.

And
This may be rosin focused, but is not limited to just rosin. if you extract in other ways I’d love to see it and I know others would to. Just some info on your process would be awesome.

Hope this takes off. :call_me_hand:t3:

I use a dabpress. 37 micron inside of a 160. I usually use a 37 in a 90 micron. I press bubble hash at 160 no time i just do it by feel and looks. On a ten gram squish i get about 7 or 8 grams hash rosin back.

I do QWET extraction and recovery through the Source Turbo. It allows a wide flexibility in product: full spectrum for edibles, targeted cold extraction for dabs. Yields are right on line with the expected THC percentages. So with 30 grams of flower I yield around 7 grams of oil.

I have a 10ton dab press thats controlled with a hydraulic motor. I usually puck bud using coffee filters. Ill press at 180°F at 500psi for 1 min 30 sec then do a final press at 2700psi for another 1 min 30 sec

So once you press the bud, is it still smokable afterwards?

A lot of people save the pressed buds to use for edibles or rso. But yeah you can if you want to.

I saw one recently where the guy put all the pressed buds still in the bags into a jar with everclear. He was able to extract and clean the bags in the process so the bags could be re used.

You don’t just do QWET, you do magic. Ive gone through that post before and could not believe the clarity.

@Low , thanks I just had to ask because I never see anyone mentioning using post-pressed buds until now. My tolerance is pretty low so I’d imagine it’d still get me high!

You likely would. Idk about anyone else, but I can never push all the juice out of the flower. And often times you can see the glaze still on it.

Awesome thread! @Low

@Myfriendis410 How are you filtering before the source?

I just got my Source Turbo…waiting to hear back from them…I may be helping them with their app.

Anyway… I’d been filtering with a couple coffee filters but just got with the turbo…a vacuum pump and buchner funnel and vacuum flask.

Did a press earlier of some live product. Came out pretty decent. Pressed at 170f to make it a little more runny the 160 is usually good but i guess this strain is a little tougher lmao
Creen crack live rosin
