Entry 10: Tomorrow will be 2 weeks since I dropped the seed which is now a very healthy looking seedling. I ended up adding a second humidifier to the chamber which has helped a lot. It seems like one of those humidifiers works per 600W LED light. Since I added the second one, I’ve been fighting humidity. Now I have been able to stabilize it and things are looking better.
I noticed what I think might have been potassium deficiency on one of my first two leaves.
I just added nutrients to the reservoir last night so it’s possible there was a deficiency at some point. Hopefully adding the nutes will help.
I also put a small amount (Half a dropper full) of revive. It might not hurt since it seems like there might have been at least a short period when it was running deficient.
I think I’m starting to understand the nutrients a little better after a few questions I posted on the forum. Hopefully I will be able to keep this lady going strong and healthy. So far, though, so good it seems.

Entry 11: Day 15 and I just did my first flush and fill. I found someone who gave me a really good explanation of how nutrients are supposed to be added, as far as the General Hydroponics are concerned. I think I was able to get a dose measured out fairly well, and the pH ended up being around 5.4. I’ve noticed a tendency for my pH levels to rise a little, so I will measure a little later to see if it has come up.
I also ordered another water pump. I think the design will work better for both the water chiller and when I need to drain the reservoir. I was trying to figure out a way to do it using the barbed conection on the drain, but I think it’s going to be easier just to use the oulet line coming from the chiller to drain the DWC and then use a different connector on the pump to pump water back into the system. Either that, or I could just do a good old fashioned pour.
Anyway, I’m trying to keep in mind that this thing is still small and there is only one to contend with. I’m considering doing 2 plants on my next run, but I haven’t full decided yet. Either way, It’s going to get more difficult to access the DWC soon so I want to have a plan that works for when the plant is full size.
I’m also considering adding some shock treatment to it, which a friend recommended to use. I’m not sure if this stuff has any bad long term effects so I’m going to hold off for now.
Entry 12: Looks like a growth spurt. I think the nutrients are dialed in, thanks again to @bigboy77. I owe you one my friend. She’s looking good these days. One thing I do have to find out is what the deal is with the missing leaf…

Not sure, I’ve personally never had that happen. It’s probably inconsequential because those leaves usually fall off by the time it’s full grown anyways. As long as it’s growing, and there’s no drooping or signs of nutrient burn then you’ll probably be fine. I’ve personally had plants go through some pretty awful conditions and still rebound and continue to grow.

Entry 13: Second drain and fill today. I upped the dosage and have been working on rearranging my tent a little bit. Nothing major, just shifting thing around for more space and better cable management. I’m also trying to spread out my big power consumers to multiple outlets. Nothing I’m running is that big, but I don’t want to overload a circuit.
So far so good, things seem to be going along smoothly. I did notice that there were some signs of heat stress so I’ve been trying to focus on keeping the temperature down. I added a fan inside the tent to circulate the air a little better and also one in the room. Some of the problem is that even though there is central AC in the room, there isn’t any airflow. So the AC pumps air into the room, with a small window and it just heats. Moving the air towards the door seems to help enough, especially combined with the bigger fan in the tent.
I have been trying to fine tune the humidity as well. Part of getting the tent into a better temperature range was jacking up the Humidifier level. So, I was able to get mid seventies, but the RH was around 97. The fan seems to let me keep the humidifiers on a lower setting and still keep the tent in the 70’s.
I was considering doing some training at this point, but I really want to see what a baseline grow would be. So I’m probably going to do some lollipopping and I’ll probably have to top it at some point just to keep it under control, but I’m not going to go too far with the “advanced” growing techniques yet. I’m really curious what just one plant with good conditions and basic maintenance can produce.
Next grow, however. I’m hoping to do 2 plants and most likely try some training techniques.
One thing I noticed is that the blue is starting to come through on the newer leaves. I thought it was a cool development.
Entry 14: This thing is going CRAZY!
I’m really just blown away by how much this thing is taking off.
Hey I just bought a Grobo and want to grow Bruce Banner is it possible? I kno sativa’s aren’t ideal because they grow pretty tall.
Are you asking in the correct thread? I don’t have a grobo and haven’t ever grown before. I don’t know the answer to your question.
Entry 15: Still getting these weird brown spots on the leaves. I don’t know what is causing this but I’m growing a little concerned. @BetrayedSoul @bigboy77 @ItsPat

Brown spots are usually a calcium deficiency.
Since your using RO water you should be adding calmag to the nutrient lineup.
Make sure your ph is correct at 5.8 as well. If the ph swings to far it locks out nutrients.

My pH has been right around 5.9-6.0. I added Cal Mag as well, I think I actually added over the recommended dose.
It could also potentially be heat stress, one of your pictures seems like you might have that light entirely too close. Any time I’ve seen spots like this it’s either a calcium deficiency or heat stress from lights being too close. Try raising your lights about 6 to 8 inches higher, since you’re using GH nutes calcium may not be your issue. I’ve only used RO water once or twice with the same nutes and never had this issue. If the light solution doesn’t work then I would definitely try CalMag as a next step.

I have the lights about 2 feet. Is that too close? I guess I should add I have 2 600W blurple lights.
Light stress making brown is usually all on the edges of leaves. This is calcium
Should I be using a higher dose or just adding more often? I think I put in about 5 ml last time and I’m running about 1.5 gal.
You add it to all water added just like nutes. I used to use 2ml gal with all added water.

probably a dumb question but will it be bad if I add too much?
Also are you keeping the pH around 6? If you’re changing the pH too often it’ll never climb to 7 which is the point in which your plant absorbs the most Cal / Mag. Usually what you want to see is the pH bouncing up and down. If you keep close track of the water you’ll notice it bounce, so it’ll climb up to a little over 7 then begin diving back down to 6.
I personally only set the pH when the water is first given to the plant, then simply keep track of it. Just never let the water get above 7 and never dip below 5.5. Typically it’ll bounce between 6 and 7 on it’s own as the plant consumes water then nutes then water again.
