Truly loved High Times growing up. It gave me my first dreams as a teenager of going to Amsterdam to sit in a cafe and smoke.
I held those feelings long in life. Where else could you learn valuable growing tips and ogle buds of beauty swaying in the wind.
Fast-forward to present, I found ILGM seeds and their forum, everything High Times was, is ten Xs better here. And its free.
High Times planted that seed for me, ILGM cultivated it for me.
Ill always be thankful for both.

@Mosca yeah these were fun to read…that masters of growing guide was what really got me into the breeding. But now we have a vast amount of help and knowledge from this forum

Dont make the mistake i did and try to order their magazine subscription. It will never show up. They took my money no problem and after 9 months and several attempts even going through BBB i was finally able to get refunded. I have found much joy and great information in “Grow” magazine. Only 4 issues a year but for one it was delivered and two it has all the new innovative equipment, techniques, and articles i love to read about. I agree “High Times” magazine was cool in its time but that ship has unfortunately sailed. Hang on to those, im sure they are a collectors item now.

They had great articles abd well known names that they interviewed… i was always tempted to order seeds from one of the many banks that advertise in the mag but it still wasnt legal so…i just ordered the SeaMonkey from popular mechanics

It was a article in H Times, on the birds and the bees, it was there where the trick of using the thin plastic garment protector for male plants.
Limited space, a wise early breeder used the Dry Cleaning plastic bag used for long gown to place over his males that he wanted to use for pollenation.
They were paper thin clear plastic, and as the article mentioned, first used as a condom for the male plants.
Yes, the good ole days.

Smoking crap weed in the 70s, I used to look at the pictures and think some day I am going to grow something like that. Now almost anyone can grow weed that I dreamt of 45 years ago. We occasionally did get the Panama or Maui, but mainly compressed brick weed.
