7 days since transplant all plants seem to be a lighter shade of green but also have had close to 2 nodes of vertical growth lots of different variables to try and sort through I think it’s possible the transplant will have longer time recovering fully because of how deep I planted in the mean time I think it would be a good idea to check the ph of the soil being that the mix was 1/3 peat moss but it doesn’t make sense that all the smaller plants that I’ve used the mix with are fine and healthy could also be a nitrogen deficiency caused by a more stressful transplant with uptake decreasing during root development? I could be overreacting it’s still early yet any ideas would be appreciated @Slug_Life@W.B.elpaso@plumbdand@Dforce
@W.B.elpaso im tempted to make a tea just using the dunk method for a quick liquid N fertilizer with the chicken clean out from last year or from my compost pile, I’m just worried about burning
Im with @Dforce . no worries, shell catch up. Sometimes they get a bit more shock than others. Then again, i had plants stay light green there entire grow. Looked like she needed nitrogen all the time. I called her my albino widow. She was a white widow strain. I tried everything i could think of and she never changed from a light pale green.
Thanks everyone, much appreciated I’ll just stand by and watch the progress just get a little concerned only because I’ve put so much work into them getting them this far and so early haha
I get it, i was same way my first few times. I cheat with some jacks petunia feed on my seedlings. They like it at half strength. Mine are still inside til june 2nd or so.
ill probably get the 4 big ones out this week. The rest will wait a bit longer. I dont like taken chances out here. Ive been burned by a late freeze before.
I hear ya, no wonder they grow so well for you I knew you had a few tricks up your sleeve haha I actually just figured out a way to use my fresh chicken manure as fertilizer so I will be getting a batch going pretty soon, actually i started a 2- 5 gallon buckets of aerated feed tea not necessarily compost tea but in one I used a few handfuls of the partially finished compost and in the other a few handfuls of the chicken clean out that’s been sitting for a year, going to mix it for feeding at about 1-2 cups per 5 gallons of water and see how they react, not sure if I should be feeding the microbiology during this process.
Blue bucket is chicken clean out and white bucket is partially composted.
Partially composted brew and seasoned chicken clean out brews are complete.
Used 2 cups each per 5 gallons of water and fed the ladies, no pictures today due to dodging raindrops but on the plus side all the ladies have greened up quite a bit from the foliar feeding , also top dressed with dr.earth all purpose and dr earth bat guano around the outside edge so the ladies are definitely going in the right direction.
Well I’ve came to the conclusion that I’m overthinking and the plants are just fine in the soil mix, happened to take a stroll by my wild flower and sunflower bed and low and behold misplaced seed #2 has made an appearance and is loving the mix
Thats funny
Now were did that seed go.
Oh well
Great when they turn up especially growing.
Dont know how many times ive beennon my hands and knees looking for that seed i dropped lol
Glad it turned up in the best possible way
Are you gunna leave it there ?
Cheers
