If people just try it, it will make a believer out of them! Omg I was harvesting seeds from some Habeneros i bought at a mexican grocery store, barehanded. I always lick the inside of a hot pepper after I remove the seeds-- just to keep track of hotness in my own opinion.
Holy fireball i think my tongue wanted to self-combust! And did i do the smart thing and immediately rinse out my mouth vigorously?? No. I swallowed. Just the saliva and the juice from that teeny tiny lick.
Then my throat was on fire.
My skin burned all over for a full 2 days despite aloe, handwashing, olive oil, alcohol, soaking in a bubble bath for an hour. . . .
(i woulda used milk but we dont have any. We drink coconut milk.)
Talk about learning a lesson the hard way.
Anyway, I can totally see why pepper spray is effective againt raccoons, grizzly bears, criminals. . .

Lol, it just doesn’t bother some people, I dont know the explanation, but I can feel the heat but I dont choke or tear up that bad, I have taken an entire can of bear mace while in a car, not fun but everyone else bailed out as soon as the can started spraying, I stayed until the can was empty lol.

@CoyoteCody that’s interesting story. I’ve been pepper spraying in the face before, and I was surprised that it took my breath away. A girl, next to me barely had a reaction. She was able to function. I however do love hot peppers though.
