TDS numbers; understanding

I have always under fed to be safe, your right on there.

Also if you are growing in soil the right ph is just as important. If your PH is off, the plant will lock out and not feed at all. 6.5 ph is optimum. Lower than that it won’t matter what you feed them, they will not take it in.

Water is 5.5 to 5.8/ Try to keep it around these numbers. thanks

Are you growing in water or soil?

soil; foxfarm

Bump that ph up to around 6.5

I agree. keep the ph around 6.5. Try to not let it get lower.

Soil with lots of drainage in 5gallon fabric pots

No…I basically use organic…NECTAR FOR THE GODS…fantastic stuff easy to use once you forget everything you learned about using synthetics…a bit $$$$…but well worth it

That’s way low…your plants probably aren’t eating good and takes for ever to dry for next feeding

thanks for your info. really appreciate everyone who can help

Anything below 6.5 in soil creates lockout of calcium and magnesium. Soil or Coco would best best in the 5,8 -5.9 range. Calcium and Magnesium are two of the most important nutrients a marijuana plant needs. And if you’re not in the right range it doesn’t matter how much Cal-Mag you give them. They’re not going to take it in.

@GFDuke Regarding the soil PH you mentioned anything below 6.5 the plant is locked out of up taking Cal/Mag I’ve been battling what I feel is a Cal/Mag deficiency. I did a slurry test like FF recommends in the FFOF I’m using and my results for each plant were

MG#1 pH 5.6 Ppm 1020
MG#2 pH 5.8 Ppm 964

No nutritional supplement has been added as I was told FF had nutes for about 6weeks. I transplanted on 5/22/20 into the FFOF so they have only been in the soil for 19 days.

What exactly are you saying. What i got from your post is that your ph is low for soil. But I and most growers prefer a run off ph test. Not a slurry test. Your ppms are fine. But you need to raise your ph.

@GFDuke You answered what I was after, which was just a good reference for PPM readings. Going to increase my H2o pH to 7.0 next two waterings. Both the slurry and my runoff’s are in the same ballpark as far as pH and PPM numbers. So it looks like I need to get my soil pH up. Thank you for taking the time to respond

Hi Bobby, I’m mixing GH exactly as called out on the bottles and I’m getting 2300ppm of nutrients before I add. I’m getting 1600 on the runoff. Thoughts?

It’s good that your runoff is lower than your input. I am not familiar with GH nutes but your output isn’t bad. Are you having any issues?

Thanks Bobby, these auto flowers are 7 weeks old and I started seeing what looks like burning to me?

I did just change from Veg nutrients to flowering nutes this week. I thought perhaps it wasn’t getting enough phosphorous & potassium?
