Greetings Forum Folk!
I am preparing for my next indoor grow with Blue Dream autos.
This will be my 3rd session, and my 1st not using Pot4Pot kits/soil. Instead I will be growing in FF HF (top 1/3 of pot) and FF OF (bottom 2/3). I have been reading/researching grow medium options on this forum along with additional sources, and this option “feels” right for me at this stage in my experience and abilities.
That being said, I will be monitoring ppm’s this time around whereas with P4P grows I did not.
My question at this time is regarding calibration of the tds meter. I keep PH meter calibrated consistently. I assume the same will be necessary with the tds pen.
Suggestions/advice on this will be appreciated. Calibration solutions suggestions?
I plan to begin germination this month on the 28th.
Thanks in advance for any chirps!
Correct.
Different brand meters have differing calibration requirements. You’ll have to follow the manual and solutions specific to your meter.
Thanks. Info with device devoid of such instructions. I’ll do a deeper dive.
Thanks.
What is the make/model numbers of the meter? Perhaps someone around here might have the same meter and be able to help.
Not sure of mfg. model # is EZ-9908.
a 4-in-one pen
Thnx
The only calibration tutorial I can find is a video where Hindi is spoken. The only ting I can suggest is to contact the seller or to search around to see if you can find an English version of the manual.
Thanks for your time & response. I’m finding the same results for tutorials and info. Think I’ll return it, start over.
Thanks again! Sincerely appreciate your assistance.
Most of the folks around here are big fans of Apera and BlueLab meters.
Is that an Alibaba deal? With these types of instruments, you generally get what you pay for. With a multifunctional one, it’s going to be “Jack of all trades; master of none”.
Now, the cheaper probes generally do a decent job with EC, it’s very easy to measure. I’d make that one my EC meter, and I wouldn’t bother calibrating it. But get a good pH meter, and do get the calibration and storage solutions meant for it.
well, it is officially a return. I was really trying to minimize spending. But you are correct in repeating the familiar cost vs result phrase. So, I just completed purchasing what I should have initially. Thanks for taking the time.
pH and PPM are definitely things you want to measure as your grows progress. Proper pH and PPM are critical for successful grows.
I did just that. I opted for Apera PH pen meter and the TDS pen. I’m confident I’ll be happier with their support team if needed. Thanks again!
I use an Apera PC60. I love it.
Yes. I’ve monitored & adjusted PH consistently with a vivosun pen. I’ve calibrated that meter to the best of my understanding. Didn’t pay any attention to Pom’s previously.
I just want to get more knowledgeable about all aspects of my grow. These are important to pay attention to for sure. An upgrade in tools to do so is warranted. Thanks for your time!
Couldn’t swing that, but hopefully the 20’s -PC & EC will suffice.
Don’t mean to bug you, but the Apera tester - PC60 is a multi device, yes? I was confused about the model #’s. Don’t mean to be a pest, but if it is I’m going to change my order.
Thanks again
Yes. The PC60 does PPM and pH.
I just purchased. pC60 and trying to figure it out. I have a few questions and hopefully you are someone in this community can guide me.
BL: I can’t get past one point calibration. I calibrate at point 1 in 7.00 solution just lind. I get the “M”. However, after rinsing with distilled water and going on to the second calibration point at 4.00, the meter never stabilizes in calibration mode. Green screen with the PH indicating 4.23 but the “7.00” on the screen just keeps flashing. The screen indicates a smiley face but if I leave calibration mode I don’t get the “L” indicating successful cal.
Any help is appreciated.
