('') Tap or Pure water (,,)

(Sigh!)

No. If your chart says X should be your target and you come out with Y, you missed it.

(Puff, puff!)

@Deadhead oh I didn’t see anywhere where CX says a target number says a target number

Which is why I generally ignore the PR hype. I view target ranges as rough guidelines, not ends unto themselves.

What’s that mean

Incorrect. CX gives you suggested EC ranges for growth, bloom, and final week. EC (electrical conductivity) is another way of representing ppm, and it’s how it’s measured.

@Deadhead oh okay I’ll check it out

Feeding your plant 2000 PPM is way too much nutrients you’re wasting your money.

I don’t utilize any schedule or feed chart. What I do is I have a runoff number that I want to meet. That runoff number is 1000 PPM in order for me to feed my plant to run off 1,000 PPM I’m normally feeding at about 600 PPM

To properly do feed you need to dial in your feeds. Each plant’s going to uptake nutrients differently. So basically what I do if I run off 1300 PPM I feed a little lesson next time if I run off 800 PPM I feed more.

Eventually you’ll figure out how much PPM to mix to achieve your 1000 PPM runoff. And you simply feed according to your runoff.

That’s my general practice. I like to use RO water or distilled that way I know it’s getting the nutrients that I’m giving it and not depending on what might be in tap water.

I hope this made sense :collision: :victory_hand:. :collision:

@Lostgirl yes, that made a lot of sense. I ain’t going to lie I usually feed what my schedule tells me to maybe even a little stronger sometimes cuz I will have less water in my jug. See I was under the impression if your leaves are not burning then you are good to feed more. I ain’t going to lie there has been times my feet has been 2500 PPM when I first started using these nutrients. Another thing I’m not going to lie about, you were the one that taught me about runoff and all of that stuff when I first started but I don’t even check the runoff no more cuz I’m so lazy LOL I just feed what my schedule says to and sometimes I will give plain water in between. I talked to the owner of CX horticulture a while back and asked him a whole bunch of questions and one of them was about having water days he said you are never supposed to have a water day you are supposed to feed every time and he said exactly what you said about how you’re supposed to measure your runoff. But I even think on my nutrient feeding schedule they have to have a super high Target EC based off of what mine is when feeding

This is what I need some help understanding though. I just asked what should the PPM be for CX horticulture nutrients and this is what I was told

So it says in late flower 900 to 1200 PPM but if you follow their schedule you’re really going to have way more than that so how should I go about doing this

I also have a friend that works at Advance Nutrients (he’s also a commercial grower) and he told me he has up to 700 plants at certain points and he feeds at 3/4 trength on each individual girl and never checks run off and the plants are always happy and healthy.

I say this to you Jay, if what you’re doing is working and your plants are coming out nice don’t fix it if it ain’t broke

:victory_hand:

That call to Australia must have cost you a small fortune, dude.

How are you measuring your EC/ppm/ppt/TDS?

If you’re using city water with chlorine and fluoride in it it’s usually never a good idea. If you have to use that wait 24 hours for the chlorine to disobeyed. I collect rainwater in 5 gallon buckets, and use RO water if it’s not raining… I don’t know what’s all been said above . I do not go indoors though I only grow outdoors in the summer. Sometimes I think we really overcomplicate growing this plant.

I use my tap for DWC, autopots, and soil and it works fine for me :man_shrugging:

I started with useing RO or distilled, but that quickly got expensive and time consuming for me.

So I just started useing my tap and I’ve saw no noticeable difference at all..

My tap is around 100-120ppm and i do still use distilled for germination and the first week or so of anything going in DWC, but it’s tap for everything else..

This is all i have going atm but there’s lot’s of grows under my profile to see what I get useing tap water.

I need to tend to the bucket that has 3 in it and adjust the ph, as well as remove the 2 smaller ones, but my city tap water works for me ..

@Deadhead no he is not in Australia, I have his cell phone number. He does a lot of traveling though but I don’t remember exactly where he was when I spoke to him. But what are you asking how do I measure, I measure PPM

CX is an Australian company.

Yes I know it is but that doesn’t mean the owner has to live there LOL

With what? You do realize that ppm is just an extrapolation that’s derived from the EC of the nute solution, don’t you?

I just looked back in my messages to see, he was in Canada when I last spoke to him but anyway yeah I use PPM on the x2 scale

I use pure water. I use the water from my dehumidifiers, it all test pure. Sometimes it can b a challenge outside but I have a 50 gallon tank for that. Indoors we keep around 10 gallons. Plus hauling the water out to garden in summer is good for me.

Admittedly I’ve never let my tap gas off the chlorine with no ill effects. I moved to a Boogie Blue hose filter to combat this :love_you_gesture:
