Syringe lubricant?

Hey guys im using these syringes and the lubercant wears off in a few months. What lube can i use thats safe with nutrients, i was using mineral oil but it wears off right after and you can see it float in the top of the bucket. Didnt want to use anything bad to ingest. Thanks for any help!

Olive oil or vegetable oil maybe Vaseline

I would use the silicone lubricant that you can get at a plumbing store/dept that is used for the internal of faucets and o-rings.

Edit: This stuff comes in a tiny amount. It is a very viscous and non-water soluble grease. I used the same little tube for over 10 years of installing many dozens of faucets.

You can buy food grade silicone in a spray can.or just run a few full syringes of water first
I used to use this at work in food process piping.I’ve had this tub 25 years

I would simply get a new syringe. Too risky if you ask me.

I get them in 50 packs on Amazon. I keep them as long as I can, and I’ve found that even lubricating doesn’t work well once the rubber plunger swells.

In a pinch, I’ve used a scalpel and very carefully shaved a bit around the perimeter of the plunger, and it moves easily again, but with the bulk price on Amazon I just toss them when they get too tough to push or pull.

I agree with @2GreenThumbs and @Cap_Ron, they’re a consumable part of the operation, imo.
But reusing them is cool too. Most brewing equipment and supply stores carry this stuff. It’s foodgrade and nontoxic, pretty much inert.

Thanks everybody, and yeah i have been just rebuying them. But i hate being wasteful if something still can have some use left. Idk what lube they use but i figured if i could figure it out i could use them 2x longer. I preshate the hell out of it guys.

I can get you a link later tonight, my Amazon stuff is on my computer not my phone, but I think you can find it by searching this brand.
These ones are actually really good, I’ve been using the same few for at least 3 months now.

And pretty sure that 50 pack is under 20 bucks on Amazon. Be a bargain at twice the price, lol.

Does that come with the needles? The long ones or buy those seperate? I got some so thats not a issue.

Yeah send me the link though, well post it. Thanks man

No needles, just the plain syringes.

Thank you man!!

Not sure why this showed up in my feed, but I am pretty sure that any petroleum based lubes will just swell up the rubber plunger gasket more.

Silicone or water based lubes, depending on how ya roll…

They have measuring cups in glass like shot glasses I can purchase for measuring out nutes. Even after a short time of using the syringe the black lettering is going to start to fade off of it fast so if u plan to use it a bit get a needle and scratch the lines where I’ll be able to see them even if not numbered. U’ll see what I mean and be like damn should have scratched them lines. Lol. Anyways Amazon has bags of the syringes like u show like 10 syringes with metal tops and caps for like 14ish bucks or so I wanna say it was.

I scratched lines in my first one. Then I just put some clear box sealing tape over the numbers on the next one and it’s lasted for a couple years now.

I never even thought of that tape idea. I do the tape on the strand lights for the kids bedrooms as the shit they put on the back of strips only lasts a day or so lol. 2 inch box tape clear solves that issue. Lol.
